Week six brought the usual highs and lows over the 14 games and it was the same case with my predictions! Another week of football is upon us though as we move into week 7 where things are becoming interesting for teams with play off aspirations.
Here are my NFL 2020 Week Seven Predictions:
New York Giants @ Philadelphia Eagles
This has not been a good season for Daniel Jones and Carson Wentz and their teams. The Giants go into this game 1-5 while the Eagles are slightly better at 1-4-1. New Yorks current predicament will come as a surprise to very few but a lot of people fancied the Eagles to top this division pretty easily. They have to get something from this game or Eagles head coach Doug Pederson might be looking for a new job.
Giants 16 Eagles 34
Carolina Panthers @ New Orleans Saints
Teddy Bridgewater and his Panthers team were in good form before last weeks defeat to the impressive Bears. The Saints still rely on Drew Brees for inspiration but for how long can that continue? This one is a close call and I think the Saints can edge it.
Panthers 23 Saints 27
Buffalo Bills @ New York Jets
The Jets abysmal season continued last week as they failed to manage to score any points against the Dolphins. This is the perfect game for the Bills to bounce back to form after a setback against the Chiefs last week. Josh Allen will be rubbing his hands in excitement for this one. It’s going to be a long game for the Jets.
Bills 42 Jets 7
Cleveland Browns @ Cincinnati Bengals
It was a high scoring close game last time these Ohio rivals went head to head. The Browns edged it then and I wouldn’t bet against something similar this time. The Bengals have a 1-4-1 record but they can run good teams close. The Browns have higher ambitions this year though and I think Baker Mayfield will get one over Joe Burrow again but only just.
Browns 30 Bengals 28
Dallas Cowboys @ Washington Football Team
No Dak Prescott for the remainder of the season is another blow to a Dallas team who are having a poor season considering the pre-season hopes. But as much of a mess as they are they are still too good for this Washington team sitting 1-5 and struggling to score.
Cowboys 21 Washington 12
Green Bay Packers @ Houston Texans
Aaron Rodgers had a rare bad day at the office last week in Packers loss to the Buccaneers. But if there is one thing we know about Rodgers and this Packers team it is they know how to bounce back. The Texans lost in a high scoring match against the Titans last week and their defence is going to have to improve this week or it could be a lot of points against again.
Packer 34 Texans 16
Detroit Lions @ Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons picked up their first win of the season last week against the Vikings and will look at this for an opportunity to get some momentum going. The Lions also picked up a victory but it was against the disastrous Jaguars. I can see the Falcons having too much here.
Lions 23 Falcons 38
Pittsburgh Steelers @ Tennessee Titans
Now this is can be a big one. Two undefeated teams go head to head in Tennessee and its a difficult one to call. Ryan Tannehill is on form and his opposition quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is also answering his critics this year. It can go either way but I have a good feeling the Steelers will edge it.
Steelers 20 Titans 19
Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Las Vegas Raiders
The Raiders have already given us two big surprise wins this season, over the Chiefs and the Saints. Can they make it three against the Buccaneers? Well unfortunately they may be missing some key players this week and Brady will have little sympathy.
Buccaneers 26 Raiders 16
Kansas City Chiefs @ Denver Broncos
The Chiefs bounced back from their defeat to the Raiders with a close win over the Bills last week. The Broncos had Drew Lock back but wasn’t exactly up to speed despite their win over the Patriots. That victory was largely down to a solid defensive performance but they would will have to step up even more if they want to stop the Chiefs this week.
Chiefs 38 Broncos 10
Jacksonville Jaguars @ Los Angeles Chargers
Both of these teams are struggling big time. Jaguars are sitting at 1-5 while the Chargers are 1-4. The big difference for this one is that the Charges have been running most teams close while the Jags have been losing by big margins every week. In short, the Chargers should be winning this one.
Jaguars 16 Chargers 27
San Francisco 49ers @ New England Patriots
The good news for the Patriots is that Cam Newton will be returning. This is also bad news for injury plagued 49ers. New England have to pick things up to meet early season expectations as they now sit 2-3. The 49ers actually had a surprisingly good result last week as the beat the Rams but I don’t think they have the consistency to surprise us again here.
49ers 17 Patriots 23
Seattle Seahawks @ Arizona Cardinals
The Cardinals showed some early promise this season then fell away a bit. OK they have won their last two outings but that was against two teams that everyone is beating in the Jets and the Cowboys. One of the last teams they want to face right now is the 5-0 Seahawks. Russell Wilson and his undefeated teammates should win this without too much trouble even if Kyler Murray has another good day.
Seahawks 30 Cardinals 27
Chicago Bears @ Los Angeles Rams
The Bears went 5-1 after a nice win over the Panthers last week. The Rams meanwhile went down to a surprise defeat to the 49ers to go 4-2. Looking closer at the Rams they look like a team who will sweep aside a lot of teams but struggle against the elite. And the Bears are an elite team this year.
Bears 20 Rams 16
