NFL 2020 Week Five Predictions

We are heading into Week 5 and already things are starting to take shape for the form sides. For the teams who have struggled so far, it’s time for them start picking up some wins.

Here are my NFL Week 5 predictions:

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Chicago Bears

The Bears have a tight defense and it will have to be at it’s best to stop an on form Brady. Whether they can rack up enough points against Tampa is a different story.

Buccaneers 25 Bears 20

Carolina Panthers @ Atlanta Falcons

A couple of weeks ago I might have picked the Falcons to come out on top for this one. The Panthers have improved rapidly though and sealed a nice win against the Cardinals last week while the Falcons went down to easily to the Packers.

Panthers 38 Falcons 31

Buffalo Bills @ Tennessee Titans

The Bills look like a formidable force at the moment and can go 5-0 after this one. The Titans were stopped in their tracks due to Covid restrictions last week so it will interesting to where they are at after going 3-0.

Bills 21 Titans 25

Las Vegas Raiders @ Kansas City Chiefs

The Raiders put up a good fight against the Bills last week and can still have a positive season if they continue to play to the same standards. They just don’t have enough in their locker to trouble the Chiefs though.

Raiders 17 Chiefs 31

Arizona Cardinals @ New York Jets

It’s been a tough couple of weeks for Kyler Murray and the Cardinals. After two straight defeats they will be glad to see the Jets this week who just can’t buy a win. This week will be no different.

Cardinals 19 Jets 11

Philadelphia Eagles @ Pittsburgh Steelers

The struggling Eagles picked up their first win of the season against the 49ers last week. The unbeaten Steelers meanwhile sat at home for a bye week. That nice rest might be enough to give them an edge here and knock the Eagles confidence back down.

Eagles 16 Steelers 25

Los Angeles Rams @ Washington Football Team

The Rams weren’t at their best against the Giants last week but still managed to grind out the result. Washington continues to punch but they are starting to lose impact as they weeks roll on.

Rams 31 Washington 14

Cincinnati Bengals @ Baltimore Ravens

Joe Burrows continued to impress last week as the Bengals picked up their first win against the Jags. The Ravens are a completely different beast however and Lamar Jackson will run and throw holes through this defense all day long.

Bengals 17 Ravens 34

Jacksonville Jaguars @ Houston Texans

The Texans picked up their 4th straight defeat last week against the Vikings. They need to turn things round here against a Jaguars team who have their own problems. A must win for both teams.

Jaguars 21 Texans 30

Miami Dolphins @ San Francisco 49ers

A lot of 49ers success here will depend on Jimmy Garoppolo returning to injury. The 49ers have been unlucky so far with key players spending time on the treatment table. The Dolphins looked decent against the Seahawks last week but I can’t see them shaking off that losing mentality here.

Dolphins 20 49ers 25

Indianapolis Colts @ Cleveland Browns

The Browns are still being written off by the experts and some of their play has justified that. But at the same time there can be no doubt this team has talent. OBJ and Baker Mayfield turned it on against the Cowboys last week on their way to scoring 49 points. This is a tough test though against a Colts team who are showing decent form themselves.

Colts 31 Browns 38

Denver Broncos @ New England Patriots

Quarterbacks Drew Lock and Cam Newton might be missing for this game which is a pity for all of us. Both teams need the win after early season set backs and the Patriots look the stronger squad at the moment.

Broncos 21 Patriots 28

Minnesota Vikings @ Seattle Seahawks

Russell Wilson continues to push the Seahawks in the right direction and a victory here will see them go 5-0. The Vikings picked up their first win last week but won’t have enough to stop Seattle.

Vikings 24 Seahawks 38

Los Angeles Chargers @ New Orleans Saints

Drew Brees and the Saints have not shown enough consistency so far and sit at 2-2. The Charges will push them all the way here just like they do every week but will again come up short.

Chargers 14 Saints 28
