Richard Sherman obliterates Packers in post-Aaron Rodgers trade tirade

Richard Sherman held nothing back in his complete evisceration of the Green Bay Packers after they stupidly traded Aaron Rodgers away to the New York Jets.

Welcome to the world of irrelevance, Green Bay Packers

For over 30 years, y’all had two absolutely transcendent quarterbacking talents on your roster. Nobody goes from Brett Favre to Aaron Rodgers, but y’all did. Two Lombardi Trophies and three trips to the Super Bowl later, your ex went to the New York Jets … again?! Why does this keep happening? There are so many reasons, but this is a massive downside to not having an owner.

So when future Pro Football Hall of Famer Richard Sherman completely tears you down to the studs over one of the dumbest trades the NFL has ever seen, take the criticism in stride and learn something from it for once.

Sherman is 100 percent right. Green Bay will be totally irrelevant with Jordan Love as their quarterback. Nobody will fear the Packers. No more primetime games beyond the one that is required. No more division banners and premature playoff exits. Y’all chose the third-place life!

This is what you signed up for by not appreciating the best stick of deodorant you ever purchased.

Richard Sherman annihilates Green Bay Packers for trading away Aaron Rodgers

Could this blow up in our faces? Sure, but I for one think the Russell Wilson trade between the Denver Broncos and the Seattle Seahawks was the inter-conference quarterbacking exchange anomaly. Rodgers may be pushing 40, but he can still spin it. He may be the freest of spirits, but I am eager to see how he embraces the Lou Reed stage of his life in New York now. He’ll fit in there.

Even if Love holds his own, he will be the equivalent of Jeff Garcia to Favre’s Joe Montana and Rodgers’ Steve Young. It will be fun for a minute, but there is a reason we only remember the bangers. Regardless, you can hate me, Sherman and anyone else who feels this way, but you know we’re right? Deep-thinking dudes like us saw this unfolding years before it ever happened.

Frankly, embrace the suck. Find out fast if Love can do it. If he can, then wonderful and I will be the first to admit I’m wrong. But if he stinks, then effectively pivot and try to see what college signal-caller best fits what Matt LaFleur and the boys want to do. This move will define Brian Gutekunst’s front-office career. You never want to be the man who traded away Aaron Rodgers, but he just did.

Now’s a great time to turn your attention to what Luke Fickell is doing in Madison because, oh boy.
