Is There Saturday Football? Super Bowl 58 Between the Chiefs and 49ers To End Season

As the NFL season has progressed and we see more and more Friday and Saturday football games, fans are often left wondering if there is an NFL game today. With Super Bowl 58 on the horizon, some might wonder the same thing this Saturday. Let’s break down what games are on this weekend.

NFL Games Today: Is There Saturday Football Today?

Last weekend, we saw the NFL Pro Bowl Games. While entertaining, the event was not something most would classify as an actual football game. Today, both Super Bowl teams will get one last off day before playing in the biggest game of the year.

While there are no NFL games today, this past week has seen events such as Radio Row and NFL Honors take place. The NFL Honors event was clearly the highlight of a football-less week, where we got to see the game’s biggest stars come to celebrate another successful season.

When Is Super Bowl 58?

With the week’s festivities in Las Vegas all but wrapped up, when does Super Bowl 58 kick off? The San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs get an extra week of rest as they prepare for their Lombardi showdown in Las Vegas. Here’s how to watch Super Bowl 58.

  • Channel: CBS
  • Live streaming options: YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV, Paramount+

The Chiefs surprised many after beating the AFC No. 1-seeded Baltimore Ravens and making their fourth Super Bowl appearance in five years. While QB Patrick Mahomes and the offense put the pieces together at the right time, their performance has seen ups and downs this year.

Mahomes remains dominant; however, he had the weakest supporting cast in his career. For the first time in his career, though, the Chiefs were fueled by a top-10 defense in the regular season due to the brilliant game planning of defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo.

The Chiefs QB said earlier this week that the team’s Week 16 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders was the true turning point for them.

“I think we all had to look at ourselves in the mirror. I think our whole team did that,” Mahomes said. “We carried that momentum in the playoffs. Sometimes you need to get your tail whooped to be better on the other side. So I appreciate the Raiders for beating us like that ’cause that’s gotten us to this game.”

While Spagnuolo has shined in the playoffs during Kansas City’s run with Mahomes, they’ve been on fire in 2023, allowing just 17.3 points per game. Can the Chiefs’ defense rattle 49ers’ QB Brock Purdy and help Kansas City win back-to-back Super Bowls?
