Davante Adams is frustrated with 0-3 Las Vegas Raiders

The Green Bay Packers traded Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders this offseason over a contract dispute. Now, Adams is upset the team is 0-3.

In a sense, Adams sacrificed team success for personal gain. That’s not a shot at the man himself, as Davante is one of the best wide receivers in football and deserved to get paid.

It’s unconfirmed how much the Packers actually offered Adams, but whatever it was, it wasn’t enough to get him to sign on to stay in Green Bay long-term. So, he signed off on a trade to the Raiders to play with fellow Fresno State alum Derek Carr.

Unfortunately, that transition hasn’t been as smooth as he would’ve liked. While Adams has three touchdowns on the year, Vegas is 0-3 and dead last in the AFC West.

Davante Adams frustrated with Raiders losing ways

“(I’m) Frustrated and angry,” Adams said after the Raiders loss to the Titans on Sunday. “Expect more. It’s not easy to win in this league. We know that. Nobody’s naïve to the fact that nobody’s just going to lay down and just give you a victory, but at the end of the day we expect more and we will do better as we move forward.”

Adams frustration is with himself and the team. It’s fair and justified, despite the fact a contract dispute forced his way off a team that is currently 2-1 and features one of the best quarterbacks in football.

“Frustration is OK. It’s not the end of the world to be frustrated,” Adams continued. “I don’t think anybody in here should be happy or content with losing seriously, when you have the type of men we have in this locker room. And like I said from the very beginning, just because we’re good on paper doesn’t mean we’re going to be great as a team. We’re still working toward that, and it’s still early. But we’ve got to start establishing who we are as a team. So, like I said, frustration is OK as long as you do something about it.”

The veteran wideout makes a good point. By no means is this Adams fuming or demanding more targets. He wanted to win, and Adams is willing to put his body on the line to do just that.

As he forms more of a rapport with Derek Carr, perhaps this situation will solve itself. For now, though, that anger looms.
