The Tennessee Titans‘ schedule has not been officially set yet. While we wait for the official NFL schedule release, we can look ahead to who their 2023 opponents will be to begin projecting their potential outcome. Mike Vrabel’s squad took a step back in 2022 due to injuries and roster losses. Can the Titans get back on track?
Ryan Tannehill’s future is murky at best, and while he’s never really been one of the best NFL QBs, he has been the consummate game manager in helping the Titans on several postseason runs. Derrick Henry’s presence has been a huge piece of that, but now his future in Tennessee is in doubt. The Titans have several questions and very few clear answers.

As always, the Titans will face their division opponents both at home and on the road. As part of the rotational schedule, the Titans and the AFC South will take on the entirety of the NFC South and AFC North. The remaining three games on their schedule will come against the AFC West, AFC East, and the NFC West, taking on each of those divisions’ second-place finishers.
Tennessee Titans Strength of Schedule
After several years where the Titans were clearly the best team in their division, that moniker now belongs to the Jacksonville Jaguars. As for the rest of the AFC South, the Houston Texans are in yet another rebuild, and the Indianapolis Colts are joining them.

The Titans are poised to take a step back as they have questions all over their roster. Aiding them is that 50% of their games will be against the worst two teams in their division, along with four games against the putrid NFC South. All opponents considered, they have the fifth-easiest schedule in 2023, according to last season’s team records.
Tennessee Titans Record Prediction
The Titans are likely taking a further step back this year. As mentioned above, Tannehill’s future with the club is in question. He will likely open the season as the starter, and his contract is one that Tennessee cannot easily get out of. Last year’s third-round pick Malik Willis is clearly not ready to take over.
A.J. Brown was traded to the Eagles during the draft last year and promptly helped lead Philly to the Super Bowl. The pick the Titans got back was used on Treylon Burks, who had a rather disappointing rookie season, all things considered. With all of that, Henry is potentially on the trade block, and he has been the engine of every bit of success they have had.

This could be a year for the Titans to accept the rebuild. PFN NFL Draft Insider Tony Pauline has reported the Titans are one of a few teams exploring a trade up to No. 3 with the Cardinals, presumably for a quarterback like Anthony Richardson. That would not be good for Willis.
At pick No. 11, they could also move down and get more picks to build the roster. The Chargers could be a partner in that scenario. Either way, the Titans will be diminished this year and likely win 5-7 games.
