The Colts stunned the Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes in a game that resulted in criticism aimed at Chris Jones, Matt Ammendola and the entire offense.
After making it through two weeks of football unscathed, the Chiefs finally delivered their mind-numbingly ugly game right on schedule.
The biggest surprise is that it came at the hands of the previously winless Colts.
Matt Ryan and company bested Kansas City with a 16-play, 8-minute drive capped by a touchdown with 24 seconds remaining in the game.
As soon as Mahomes was intercepted to end it, Twitter went off on the performance.

The Colts deserve a lot of credit for their fight even after starting the season 1-1 with a shutout loss to the Jaguars and a tie against the Texans. They took it to the Chiefs and got rewarded for it.
However, the aftermath of the contest definitely focused on the deficiencies of Kansas City’s offense. Mahomes was pressured regularly while the run game was abysmal. The quarterback led the team with 26 yards on four carries. Jerick McKinnon had just 20 yards on seven carries while Clyde Edwards-Helaire ended up with zero yards on seven carries.
While Travis Kelce caught a touchdown, the receiving corps wasn’t up for it. JuJu Smith-Schuster led the way with five catches for 89 yards. There simply weren’t enough playmakers available to Mahomes.
Special teams was terrible as well. Skyy Moore muffed a punt to set up Indianapolis’ first touchdown. Kicker Matt Amendola missed a chipshot field goal. They attempted, and failed, a fake field goal. It was just a mess.
For Chiefs fans, the hope is that this is just one of those early-season speed bumps and not a sign of deeper problems on offense and special teams.
