Best memes and Tweets after Packers get drop kicked by Vikings in Week 1

The Green Bay Packers’ bad luck in Week 1 continued, as the Minnesota Vikings defeated them 23-7.

Last year, the Green Bay Packers had the worst possible start to their season, falling 38-3 to the New Orleans Saints. They did not reach the low of that game, but they did not fare any better in their 2022 season-opener against the rival Minnesota Vikings.

The Packers lose in Week 1 once again, as they fell to the Vikings 23-7. Minnesota did the majority of their damage in the first half with Justin Jefferson feasting on Green Bay’s secondary. The Packers offense, on the other hand, failed to get anything going, as they navigate their first season in quite some time without Davante Adams.

Twitter users had some fun at the expense of Rodgers and the Packers, while giving praise to the Vikings.

Things got bad quickly for the Packers, as they watched Justin Jefferson record six catches for 158 yards and two touchdowns in the first half. Green Bay’s defense had absolutely no answer for him.

Meanwhile, Rodgers tried to connect with his relatively new wide receiver corps. Yes, Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb returned, but they had some new faces in Sammy Watkins, Christian Watson, and Romeo Doubs. In fact, the lack of production was highlighted by Watson dropping a would-be touchdown reception on a pass from Rodgers that hit him right in the hands.

To make matters worse, Adams picked up 141 receiving yards in his debut with the Raiders. The Packers wide receivers put up a total of 95 yards as a whole in the Week 1 loss.

Jefferson caught 9-of-11 targets from Kirk Cousins for 184 yards and two touchdowns. Cousins completed 23-of-32 of his passes for 277 yards and two touchdowns.

Green Bay will look to pick up a win in Week 2 against the Chicago Bears, who defeated the San Francisco 49ers 19-10. As for Minnesota, they look to go 2-0  next week with a win over the Philadelphia Eagles, who held on to defeat the Detroit Lions 38-35.
