Tua Tagovailoa is ready to fuel the Tyreek Hill-Eli Apple feud

Tyreek Hill and Eli Apple are set to face off on Thursday Night Football, and Tua Tagovailoa is ready to help out his wide receiver.

The Miami Dolphins are the lone undefeated team remaining in the AFC after they defeated the rival Buffalo Bills in Week 3. Now, they face off against the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday Night Football, where wide receiver Tyreek Hill and cornerback Eli Apple continue their feud stemming from last year. Following the win over the Bills, Hill said that he “can’t wait to go against Eli Apple.”

While speaking with the media on Tuesday, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was asked about the beef between Hill and Apple. Tagovailoa says that he is ready to help out his wide receiver.

“If Tyreek is matched up with him, and we call a play for Tyreek, and it’s one-on-one, I’m giving Tyreek his shot. Just know that. He is getting the ball,” said Tagovailoa.

Last season, Hill was with the Kansas City Chiefs and faced off against Apple and the Bengals twice. Once in the regular season and the other in the AFC Championship Game, both of which were won by the Bengals. In the title game, Apple notably tackled Hill before he had the chance to reach the end zone on a second-and-goal situation.

Apple celebrated the win by taking some shots at Hill, including retweeting a video of the aforementioned play, calling the wide receiver “a baby.” Hill responded, telling Apple to “hit my line.” Oh, and Apple later offered both Hill and Chiefs wide receiver Mecole Hardman Super Bowl tickets, since the Bengals made it to Super Bowl 56 by way of their win in the AFC Championship Game.

Hill obviously has not forgotten about the last time that the two met on an NFL field. The Bengals are ready, as safety Jessie Bates III said ahead of the Week 4 matchup.

“(If) somebody comes after Eli, he comes after all of us,” Bates said, h/t ESPN’s Ben Baby. “We’re all up for the challenge.”

Dolphins and Bengals is a must-watch game this Thursday night. Not just because it could be a competitive game, but also the Hill vs. Apple matchup.
