With Rob Gronkowski firmly in retirement, his former quarterback Tom Brady has come out and said replacing him isn’t easy.
Tom Brady said the obvious. Replacing Rob Gronkowski, arguably the greatest tight end in the history of the NFL, isn’t easy.
It’s no secret that the quarterback and tight end have such a strong bond and relationship, having brought glory to both the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers organizations. At the same time, being apart is not so easy.
Given how both of them flourished with each other and helped each other achieve heights that will be soon side by side in Canton, it will be hard to replace.
Tom Brady said the obvious with Rob Gronkowski
All is not lost. Tampa Bay still has a lot of weapons for Tom Brady to work with, although the offensive line could be a significant issue throughout this season. We just saw what happened with the Los Angeles Rams on opening night against Buffalo with the Bills’ pash rush. What could happen with Tampa Bay?
If memory serves, Super Bowl LV was a prime example. Injuries and inconsistency within the Kansas City Chiefs offensive line served wonders to Tampa Bay in the 31-9 victory. Now, despite having weapons like Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Julio Jones on the roster, the Buccaneers may need to focus on the front line to ensure they get their statistics.
Tom Brady has done more with less before, but losing Gronk? That’s tough. He saw it first hand in New England and now in Tampa Bay. Then again, if anyone can make it work, it would be Brady, and the Dallas Cowboys are the first team on the schedule.
Just imagine if Gronk comes back, though. That would make for an interesting story.
