Russell Wilson’s return to Seattle will have a special treat for NFL fans

When Russell Wilson returns to Seattle on Monday Night Football, viewers will have a special treat in the broadcast booth.

Russell Wilson is back in Seattle, but someone else is back. That’s right; the Manning cast duo of Peyton and Eli Manning are back on Monday Night Football.

The Super Bowl champion brothers announced they would be returning this season, with their first game being the return of Wilson to the Pacific Northwest for the first time since being traded from the Seattle Seahawks to the Denver Broncos.

It’s an intriguing matchup not just because of who is returning, i.e., Wilson, but how these two teams are pretty familiar with each other, most notably because of Super Bowl XLVIII.

Back then, it was Peyton leading the Broncos while Wilson was but a young pup in the NFL with Seattle and the Legion of Boom. Seattle got the better of Denver that night 43-8, giving the Seahawks their first and only Super Bowl title thus far.

Russell Wilson’s return to Seattle is also headlining with the return of the Manningcast.

Though Joe Buck and Troy Aikman are expected to make their debut in the ESPN Monday Night booth this fall, the return of Russell Wilson will likely be viewed by many through the Manningcast, and for a good reason.

The Manningcast “curse” will likely live on, and the guests that often arrive provide good entertainment and share exciting stories. Players like Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, and Josh Allen appeared, as did other celebrities, including Michael Strahan, The Rock, Charles Barkley, and Snoop Dogg.

Football is back, and Monday Night Football features so much intrigue with the players on the field and how the game will be broadcast across the country. Russell Wilson is coming back to Seattle. Peyton and Eli are in the booth. That only leaves one question to be answered. Are you ready for some football?
