The Old Dominion Monarchs struggled this season in the Sun Belt. However, they still have a few potential NFL Draft prospects looking to make a name for themselves come the end of April. Old Dominion 2023 NFL Draft Scouting Reports
Nick Saldiveri, OL
Strengths: Tough, durable lineman who was a three-year starter at right tackle. Starts with proper knee bend, sets with a wide base, and stays square. Patient in pass protection, correctly places his hands into defenders, and anchors at the point. Outstanding position blocker who keeps his feet moving, blocks with leverage, and seals opponents from the action. Nasty and always looks for someone to hit. Displays outstanding blocking vision.

Weaknesses: Lacks balance in pass protection. Struggles to adjust and gets beaten by quick or nimble opponents. Doesn’t get much movement run blocking.
Overall: Saldiveri has been a productive lineman on the college level and comes with outstanding length and growth potential. He’s a small-area blocker who will have to play right tackle or guard. He doesn’t come with great upside, though he has the potential to make a roster as a backup utility lineman.

Tre Hawkins III, CB
Strengths: Nice-sized corner coming off a disappointing season. Aggressive, stays with assignments, and gives a lot of effort defending the run. Quick flipping his hips in transition, fluid moving around the field, and has a burst to the ball out of his plant. Effective facing the action and quickly locates the ball or action.

Weaknesses: Must improve his backpedal. Lacks deep speed. Didn’t show much improvement last season.
Overall: Hawkins possesses next-level length and has shown solid ball skills over the past two years. He lacks Sunday speed, but he could be used in a zone system facing the action.
Zack Kuntz, TE
Strengths: Penn State transfer who quickly releases off the line of scrimmage into pass routes, uses his hands to separate from defenders, and extends to make the reception away from his frame. Smooth and fluid moving about the field, remains focused, and gets vertical to snatch the ball from the air.
Displays terrific blocking vision, stays square, and shows strength at the point. Seals defenders from the action or opens up running lanes. Above-average route runner for a tight end who sticks his foot in the ground and then quickly gets into breaks. Shows good route discipline. Possesses long arms and big hands. Turned in a tremendous Combine workout.
Weaknesses: Doesn’t show much burst. Not a true downfield threat. Gets average results as a blocker. Coming off an injury-shortened campaign.
Overall: Kuntz was highly rated coming into the season before suffering an injury that ended his campaign after five games. He went on to perform brilliantly during Combine workouts. Kuntz possesses the measurables and football skills necessary to develop into a starting tight end once he returns to the field.
