Jets’ Super Bowl odds following Aaron Rodgers trade

The New York Jets finally got their guy.

New York reportedly agreed to a deal with the Green Bay Packers that will bring four-time league MVP Aaron Rodgers to the Jets this season.

New York gave up several draft picks in the deal.

Rodgers, 39, won back-to-back MVPs in the 2020 and 2021 seasons, but he and the Packers took a bit of a step back last season. Now, the future Hall of Famer gets a new start with a Jets team that nearly made the playoffs last season.

Oddsmakers had already prepared for a Rodgers trade, which had been rumored for months, moving New York to +1400 to win the Super Bowl in the 2023 season.

Jetsā€™ Super Bowl odds

The Jets are seventh in the odds to win the Super Bowl, and it makes sense given how strong the teamā€™s defense was last season. New York was in the running for a wild card spot despite poor quarterback play from Zach Wilson, Joe Flacco and Mike White.

Rodgers will have plenty of weapons in New York, as the team has 2022 first-round pick Garrett Wilson at receiver alongside Corey Davis and Allen Lazard.

The Jets also are hoping to get running back Breece Hall, who was terrific last season, back from a torn ACL in the 2023 campaign.

Rodgers has come up short in the playoffs in recent seasons, and he now joins a loaded AFC East that features Josh Allen and Tua Tagovailoa.

The AFC in general is extremely tough with Joe Burrow, Patrick Mahomes, Justin Herbert, Lamar Jackson, Trevor Lawrence and others all competing for a title.

It will be weird to see Rodgers in a new uniform, but thereā€™s no doubt that Vegas expects him to turn the Jets into legitimate Super Bowl contenders.
