Jalen Hurts had the most Philly celebration of all time after Eagles win

Jalen Hurts celebrated the Eagles win in the NFC Championship Game by doing the Fresh Prince handshake with DJ Jazzy Jeff.

Jalen Hurts just led the Eagles to their first NFC Championship since the 2017 season. His next job is to match the result of that campaign by winning a Super Bowl. But first, he gets to celebrate what Philadelphia has accomplished so far.

The quarterback found the most Philly way possible to do that, though maybe not as chaotic as the fans who took to Broad Street.

Hurts met up with Philadelphia native DJ Jazzy Jeff on the field after the Eagles’ 31-7 victory and proceeded to do the iconic Fresh Prince handshake.

Jalen Hurts and DJ Jazzy Jeff paid homage to The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air

DJ Jazzy Jeff made his name in Philadelphia as a DJ, releasing music alongside Will Smith in the duo DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince. He appeared with Smith as Jazz on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air TV show, where the two perfected their signature handshake.

The Grammy Award winner was at the game not just because he’s a son of Philadelphia. He performed at halftime.

Hurts was born in Houston, Texas and played football in college in Alabama and Oklahoma, but he’s embraced Philadelphia as his home since they drafted him in 2020. Now he’s got them in the Super Bowl.

It certainly wasn’t a sure thing for Hurts to emerge as the Eagles starting quarterback and an MVP candidate. He started four games as a rookie but went 1-3 despite showing flashes. He went 8-7 as the starter in 15 games in 2021. It wasn’t until the 2022 season that he left no doubt about his place in Philadelphia sports.

In his 15 starts, Hurts went 14-1, throwing for 3,701 yards and 22 touchdowns while rushing for 760 yards and 13 touchdowns. A shoulder injury in Week 16 limited him in the final weeks of the regular season.

Now he’s heading for the Super Bowl, waiting only to find out who Philly will take on.
