The Eagles had the top seed in the NFC after finishing the season with a 14-3 record. They managed to decisively defeat the New York Giants in the Divisional Round to earn their spot in the NFC Championship Game. They faced off a 49ers team that statistically had the best defense in the NFL.

While Philadelphia was held to just 269 yards of offense, they held the 49ers to just 164 yards. The Eagles suffered two injuries to their available quarterbacks. Brock Purdy suffered a right elbow injury when getting hit in the arm by edge rusher Haason Reddick during a pass attempt. Meanwhile, Josh Johnson had to leave the game after suffering a concussion after hitting the back of his head off the turf when getting hit by defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh.

All four of Philadelphia’s touchdowns were scored during rushing attempts. Miles Sanders scored two of them, while Jalen Hurts and Boston Scott scored one each.

The Eagles are heading to Arizona to compete in Super Bowl 57, and will wait to see who they will play between the Kansas City Chiefs and Cincinnati Bengals. We will see if the Eagles fanbase will be celebrating on Sunday, Feb. 12.
