Jalen Carter NFL draft odds shift considerably following arrest report

The top of the 2023 NFL Draft may be shaken up after an arrest warrant was issued for Georgia star Jalen Carter for reckless driving and racing.

The incident resulted in the death of one of Carter’s teammates at Georgia.

Both of the charges being brought against Carter are misdemeanors, but it has significantly changed his odds in the draft market.

At FanDuel Sportsbook, Carter has moved all the way back to +2600 to be the No. 1 pick, and he’s no longer the odds on favorite to be the first defensive player picked in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Instead, Will Anderson (-105) has taken over the top spot in the odds, and it’s possible they could move more once more information comes out about Carter’s situation.

Anderson and Tyree Wilson are the two players that would jump up the board if Carter falls. The defensive lineman was widely regarded as the top defender in his draft class.

Last season at Georgia, Carter made 32 tackles, seven tackles for loss and three sacks. He compiled 18.5 tackles for loss and six sacks across three seasons with the National Champions Bulldogs.

Odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.
