Fresh off his first Super Bowl appearance, Jalen Hurts is now heading back to the Philadelphia Eagles with a blockbuster $255 million deal attached to him.
But will the league see Hurts in action before Sept. 10, potentially against the Baltimore Ravens in their preseason opener Saturday evening?
Jalen Hurts’ Preseason Outlook With the Eagles
The short four-word answer to that question is … there’s no definitive answer.
Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni ended up being noncommittal on Hurts’ status heading into the matchup with the Ravens.
“We’re still figuring it out,” Sirianni said to the Philadelphia media. “I don’t have to make a decision quite yet on [playing time]. We’ll see. We talk through everything, and we’re still talking through it.”
For what it’s worth, this could still translate to Hurts not seeing any action, especially with his new deal.

Hurts Reveals if He’s Playing on Saturday
Even Hurts didn’t provide a direct answer about whether or not he was suiting up vs. the Ravens when he was asked what he hopes to see out of the Eagles in the next several days.
“I think we’ll cross that bridge when we get there,” Hurts said.
But he added, “Kind of focused on Saturday.”
Either that means he’s going to give it a go with the Eagles, or he’s on the sideline coaching and support end for the rest of his Eagle teammates who are likely to see action against Baltimore.
Eagles fans may likely remember who started in the first preseason game last year vs. the New York Jets: Hurts himself.
In that contest, he attempted six passes and completed each one for a total of 80 yards and one touchdown. That was all in his first series of that game, which became his only preseason action as the Eagles rested him for the rest of the month.
Even if Hurts does play, he won’t share the field with Lamar Jackson. The Ravens made the decision to rest their more established starters ahead of the contest, with head coach John Harbaugh announcing the move two days before the game.
