2023 NFL mock draft: Atlanta Falcons get their franchise QB at No. 1 overall
CJ Stroud
QB, Atlanta Falcons
The Atlanta Falcons made the move for Marcus Mariota this past offseason after Matt Ryan made his way to the Indianapolis Colts. Through two games, Mariota still looks like more of a backup than a starter, which means the Falcons could be in play for a quarterback next offseason as well, especially if they land the No. 1 overall pick.
Right now, you could flip a coin as to which quarterback in the 2023 class you would rather have, be it, CJ Stroud, or Bryce Young. For now, we like Stroud to be the top pick, and even if learns under Mariota for a season, he still gives Atlanta a long-term solution at the most important position in sports.
Will Anderson
Edge, Tennessee Titans
Last season, the Tennessee Titans were the No. 1 seed in the AFC, playing their way to the top spot despite not having star running back Derrick Henry for a chunk of the season. This year, Henry is healthy, but the team is struggling in a big way, and recently gave up 40-plus points to the Buffalo Bills at home.
On defense, the Titans look to be in big trouble, and with a franchise quarterback waiting in the wings in Malik Willis, they can turn their attention to that side of the ball with pick No. 2 overall. That pick is Will Anderson from Alabama, a player many feels is the best overall player in this draft class, and someone Mike Vrabel would love to have on his defense.
