Dates, Times, TV Schedule, and More

The Dallas Cowboys enter every season with the loftiest of expectations. And every season, they come up short. With one of the best rosters and best offenses in the NFL, how will the Cowboys’ schedule impact their chances of success in 2023?

Dallas Cowboys Schedule and Opponents

While we won’t find out the Cowboys’ schedule for 2023 until the official NFL release in May, we already know their opponents for the upcoming season.

Home Games

  • Detroit Lions
  • Los Angeles Rams
  • New England Patriots
  • New York Giants
  • New York Jets
  • Philadelphia Eagles
  • Seattle Seahawks
  • Washington Commanders

Away Games

  • Arizona Cardinals
  • Buffalo Bills
  • Carolina Panthers
  • Los Angeles Chargers
  • Miami Dolphins
  • New York Giants
  • Philadelphia Eagles
  • San Francisco 49ers
  • Washington Commanders

As always, the Cowboys will face their division opponents both at home and on the road. As part of the rotational schedule, the Cowboys and the NFC East will take on the entirety of the AFC East and NFC West.

The remaining three games on their schedule will come against the remaining two NFC teams that finished second in their division, as well as their “17th game crossover” against the Los Angeles Chargers, who finished second in the AFC West in 2022.

Dallas Cowboys Strength of Schedule

The Cowboys are in a unique spot in that they finished with one of the best records in the league but did not win their division. In theory, that should give them an easier schedule than they otherwise would have.

Unfortunately, that’s not the case for the Cowboys, as they have the 11th-toughest schedule in the league. Their opponents have a combined average projected win total of 8.79.

Dallas Cowboys Record Prediction

The Cowboys have won 12 games in back-to-back seasons. With a top-10 quarterback in Dak Prescott and an offense that is always one of the best in the league, there’s really no excuse for this team to miss the playoffs.

As we know all too well, anything can happen in the NFL. With that said, there are only about four games on the Cowboys’ schedule that can be classified as near-certain wins. Fortunately, given the quality of their roster, every game on their schedule is winnable. The rest of their contests could reasonably go either way.

In previous years, facing the AFC East would be a sight for sore eyes. Not this year, as it projects to be one of the best divisions in football.

The Cowboys’ current Vegas win total is set at 9.5, with the over reasonably juiced. While their ceiling every year is 13-14 wins, I’m concerned about the downgrade in offensive coordinator from Kellen Moore to Brian Schottenheimer. With that said, the Cowboys should be able to win 10 games this year, with a worst-case scenario being around eight victories.
