Multiple videos show Dallas Cowboys guard Chuma Edoga getting carted off the field during practice on Thursday.
It is believed that Edoga hyperextended his right knee, according to Michael Gehlken from the Dallas Morning News.
Cowboys Guard Chuma Edoga Carted Off Practice Field Before Preseason Game
A video on Twitter posted by Gehlken shows the moment Edoga goes down and grabs his right knee. Multiple reporters tweeted videos and pictures of Edoga being carted off of the field.
It was also noted that Edoga had been favoring the same knee throughout practice.
Saad Yousuf posted another point of view, showing Edoga struggling to put any weight on his leg when trainers assisted him to stand up.
This takes depth away from the Cowboys’ offensive line since Edoga brought tackle/guard versatility.
Edoga has been getting right guard reps in Zack Martin’s absence from training camp.
If Edoga can’t return for the Cowboys’ first preseason game on Saturday against the Jaguars, Josh Ball, Matt Farniok, and T.J. Ball would likely see an increase in reps.
Chuma Edoga’s Career Thus Far
Edoga was a third-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft by the New York Jets. He has played 26 career games with the Jets and one season with the Falcons.
Edoga was placed on the injured reserve list for a season-ending knee injury last year.
He signed with the Cowboys in April to bring even more depth to the offensive line after losing guard Connor McGovern in free agency to the Buffalo Bills.
