Aaron Rodgers Receives Funny Jab From Former Teammate After Jordan Love Debut — ‘Aaron Is Slow as Sh–‘

Apparently, the Green Bay Packers‘ offense became faster post-Aaron Rodgers — according to one former teammate of Rodgers who cracked a joke about it.

Close Friend of Rodgers Sounds Off Humorously on the Ex-Packers QB

Via ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler on Friday, left tackle David Bakhtiari — also a longtime friend of Rodgers — did his part to answer how much different the Packers’ offense will be without the 10-time Pro Bowler, specifically around the Packers employing more run-pass option looks with QB Jordan Love.

“Because Aaron is slow as s–t,” Bakhtiari joked to Fowler. “Now we actually have an athletic quarterback who can move around.”

This was all in clean fun as Bakhtiari is a close friend of Rodgers and spent his years before 2023 protecting Rodgers from edge rushers and blitzers.

Love, meanwhile, didn’t take off and run once in his preseason debut Friday versus the Cincinnati Bengals. However, he did go 7-of-10 for 46 yards and threw one touchdown pass — a 9-yarder to Romeo Doubs on the first drive.

Packers Star Reveals How Camp Has Gone…and Reveals Unique Nickname

Bakhtiari, 31, hasn’t played a full season since 2019. Injuries have hampered and prevented the three-time Pro Bowler from completing a full plate of regular season games. But now, what kind of training camp has the Packers star put together?

“The f—ing best camp I’ve ever had,” he told Fowler.

That’s a great sign considering how he’s had to deal with multiple knee surgeries over the last two years. The Packers, though, are playing the cautious route with the veteran by giving him some designated rest days.

But with the rest days, the left tackle had one more joke he shared involving a new nickname he’s been given.

“It’s a joke, people here are starting to call me…the Lamborghini,” Bakhtiari explained.

“Only pull him out on Sundays. That’s almost what they’ve been doing with me. Just give me enough I need to get the engine running, make sure everything is fine, take her on the freeway a little bit and then put her back in the garage.”

Perhaps the “Lamborghini” will be needed once the Packers go with possible run/pass option (RPO) plays set up for the mobile Love once September 10 comes.
