With NFL free agency right around the corner, several Kansas City Chiefs could be replaced in the NFL Draft, rather than brought back into the fold.

Kansas City has an extensive list of free agents after its Super Bowl run. While such a postseason run will be remembered for decades to come in KC, it also means the Chiefs will be forced to pay above market value to keep some of their star players.

Unfortunately, that’s already hit home, as the likes of JuJu Smith-Schuster, Mecole Hardman, Frank Clark, Orlando Brown Jr. and more are expected to reach free agency. Will they stay in KC, or take their talents elsewhere?

Much of that will be answered in March prior to the NFL Draft.

Chiefs rumors: Frank Clark could be replaced in NFL Draft

With the Chiefs essentially saying goodbye to Frank Clark via a thank you message on social media, KC could use some help on the edge. Thankfully, several mock drafts have already fulfilled that expectation. Todd McShay of ESPN has the Chiefs selecting Auburn EDGE Derick Hall.

Per McShay: “Hall had 16 sacks and 26 tackles for loss over the past two seasons, and he just posted a 10-foot-7 broad jump and ran the 40 in 4.55 seconds at 254 pounds at the combine. That’s really good. He’s sudden and takes off in a flash. Let’s add him to the mix in K.C. opposite 2022 first-rounder George Karlaftis.”

PFF has the Chiefs selecting EDGE Felix Anudike-Uzomah out of Kansas State, but you get the theme. It’s a glaring need for Kansas City, as their pass rush stepped up big time in the postseason and needs to remain a consistent force in the ’23 season if they are to repeat.
