Will Bills QB Josh Allen Star in ‘Quarterback’ on Netflix? His Revealing Conversation With NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes

Netflix has found unparalleled success in their sports documentaries, and their latest, “Quarterback,” is no different as the doc has captivated the viewing audience with the behind-the-scenes look at NFL quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins, and Marcus Mariota.

With rave reviews continuously rolling in, the next question on the lips of NFL fans and fans of the documentary is: “Who’s Next?”

Will Josh Allen Be a Part of ‘Quarterback’?

Josh Allen is one of the more well-known quarterbacks in the NFL, and as the current Madden cover boy, the Buffalo Bills signal-caller makes as much sense as anyone for Season 2. The Bills’ franchise leader recently admitted that he spoke with Season 1 star Patrick Mahomes about his experience and forged his opinion.

“I talked to Pat (Mahomes) a little bit about it, and I think it’s a really cool concept. You look at some of the documentaries that have come out in the past, the Jordan documentary (The Last Dance). I think that to have everything documented, especially as a quarterback, is very cool.”

So why wouldn’t Joh Allen jump at the chance to star in Quarterback? Allen kept a level head about himself and the team, stating that he didn’t want to bring in additional distractions.

“I don’t want any outside distractions. I don’t want any unnecessary distractions for myself or this team. I’m not saying that it would be.”

Other Quarterbacks That Have Passed on Netflix

Allen isn’t the only NFL QB having cold feet regarding the documentary. Reportedly, Jalen Hurts, Dak Prescott, Lamar Jackson, Trevor Lawrence, Justin Fields, Tua Tagovailoa, Matthew Stafford, and Sam Howell have all turned down offers from Netflix to appear next season.

Los Angeles Chargers QB Justin Herbert remains on the fence but appears to be leaning into the documentary, so maybe he’ll be a part of the cast.

Many in the NFL limelight prefer to keep some modicum of privacy. Perhaps that’s one of the reasons Allen is unsure of the venture and how his private life will be on display. Recent speculation suggests that Allen is dating actress Hailee Steinfeld, but it’s unclear if she wants to be involved in the documentary.

The project produced by NFL Films and Hall of Fame QB Peyton Manning will, in all likelihood, air a Season 2, but will Allen be on it? The Bills QB left us wanting more.

“I’m a little undecided on whether I would want to do it or not. I go back and forth sometimes in my mind, but as of right now, I’m just trying to be the best quarterback for this team.”
