NFL Sunday Ticket is moving to a new home, leaving DirecTV and coming to YouTube TV. Here is everything you need to know about this deal and how to access it with the 2023 NFL season on the horizon.
What Is NFL Sunday Ticket?
NFL Sunday Ticket is a subscription service offered by YouTube TV, which is owned by Google. Those without YouTube TV can still get access to NFL Sunday Ticket through YouTube TV by paying a higher price. The service is an effort to bring out-of-market games to different markets across the country.
NFL Sunday Ticket allows subscribers to enjoy every out-of-market NFL game live on Sundays (excluding international contests). NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said this of the agreement:
“We’re excited to bring NFL Sunday Ticket to YouTube TV and YouTube Primetime Channels and usher in a new era of how fans across the United States watch and follow the NFL. For a number of years, we have been focused on increased digital distribution of our games, and this partnership is yet another example of us looking towards the future and building the next generation of NFL fans.”
You can stream from the service on TVs, laptops, tablets, phones, game consoles, and even media streaming devices such as ROKU and Google Chromecast using the YouTube TV app.
NFL Sunday Ticket price in 2023
YouTube has announced its pricing for NFL Sunday Ticket, which has been separated into two categories, one for existing YouTube TV subscribers, and another for those who do not currently subscribe to YouTube TV.
For existing or new YouTube TV subscribers, it will cost $349 for the full season and just $249 if you purchase before June 6, 2023. If you want to bundle it together with NFL Redzone, it will cost $389 — $289 if you purchase before June 6, 2023.

For non-YouTube TV subscribers, it will cost $449 for the season and just $349 if you purchase before June 6, 2023. If non-YouTube TV subscribers want to bundle it with NFL RedZone, it will cost $489 — $389 if you bundle with RedZone before June 6, 2023.
As of now, there have been no plans to add an option for purchasers who wish to just purchase out-of-market games for one team. This has been a popular question, and as of now, it seems to be an all or nothing approach.
How Much Does the Service Cost For Students?
There has been no announcement regarding a separate plan for students, which is a departure from NFL Sunday Ticket U — what the program was called when it was with DirecTV.
Is NFL RedZone Available Without NFL Sunday Ticket?
Yes, you can watch NFL RedZone without tethering yourself to a cable contract. To do so, you will need to subscribe to one of these four streaming services: Sling TV, fuboTV, Hulu + Live TV, or YouTube TV. Unfortunately, NFL RedZone cannot be purchased as a standalone service. If you purchase through YouTube TV, there is a pricing discount when bundled with NFL Sunday Ticket.
