Updated Tracker With Rosters From First-Ever USFL College Draft

As we gear up for some more spring football, the USFL has surprised us all by announcing its first-ever USFL College Draft. The USFL will return for its second season on April 15, but before then, the eight teams will have their pick of college athletes who are currently preparing for the NFL draft. It will be an interesting situation, to put it lightly, but 80 players will hear their names called regardless.

USFL College Draft Tracker and Results

USFL teams are drafting the rights to 80 players from a pool of approximately 3,000 eligible athletes. What will be difficult for the league is to decide on which players will opt to go to the USFL over the 2023 NFL Draft. The league will need to target players who are firmly on the outside looking in when it comes to potentially being selected.

For the first three rounds, teams will have five minutes to draft a player. For the final seven rounds, teams will have three minutes to submit a pick. Should a team let its time expire in any round without a selection, it will still choose a player, but it risks letting the team on the clock take a player it might have been considering. Teams are not allowed to pass, and there will be a five-minute break between each round.

2023 USFL College Draft Order

The Michigan Panthers earned the first pick in each of the 10 rounds by beating the Pittsburgh Maulers in the final game of the season. Both teams entered their final games of the year with 1-8 records. However, in an interesting wrinkle introduced by the USFL, it was the winner of the game that was given the first overall pick and not the loser like in the NFL.

This gave the players an extra incentive to want to win, and, ultimately, proved a ton more interest for the fans.

1. Michigan Panthers
2. Pittsburgh Maulers
3. Houston Gamblers
4. Memphis Showboats
5. New Orleans Breakers
6. Philadelphia Stars
7. Birmingham Stallions
*8. New Jersey Generals

*New Jersey’s first five selections have been penalized to lower positions due to a violation of offseason roster management rules. The team’s first-round pick has been moved to the 10th round.
