As we look at the UCF scouting reports for the 2023 NFL Draft, will we see a prospect from the school selected for the seventh-straight year and the 17th time in the last 18 drafts? Let’s take a look at the scouting reports for five UCF NFL Draft prospects.
UCF 2023 NFL Draft Scouting Reports
Divaad Wilson, S
Strengths: Aggressive safety who quickly diagnoses plays, fires upfield defending the run, and takes proper angles. Picks up coverage assignments, fluidly flips his hips, and gets physical with receivers. Hard-hitting and works to get involved in the action.

Weaknesses: Doesn’t get depth on pass drops and shows average ball skills. Lacks a great closing burst. Coming off a somewhat disappointing campaign.
Overall: I had high expectations for Wilson off his terrific 2021 season, yet he was unable to replicate it or improve from last year. He possesses solid size and flashes a well-rounded game, which will get him practice-squad consideration.
Isaiah Bowser, RB
Strengths: Well-built, downhill ball carrier who began his career at Northwestern. Patiently waits for blocks to develop, displays terrific running vision, and finds the open lanes. Hits the hole hard, runs with authority, and displays a burst. Possesses short-area quickness with the ability to bounce around defenders. Powerful and picks up yardage off initial contact. Gives effort blocking.
Weaknesses: Not a truly creative ball carrier who will make defenders miss or improvise. Marginally productive catching the ball and isn’t a threat as a receiver out of the backfield. Not going to beat defenders into the open field.
Overall: Bowser is a strong, north/south ball handler who really doesn’t show much versatility, which will negatively affect his ability to make a roster at the next level.
Ryan Swoboda, OL
Strengths: Virginia transfer with outstanding length and size. Strong, knocks defenders back off the line, and gets movement run blocking. Effectively bends his knees for a taller lineman, stays square, and seals opponents from the action. Quickly gets his hands up, correctly places them into defenders, and knocks pass rushers from their angles of attack. Keeps his head on a swivel and immediately recognizes blitzes.
Weaknesses: Stiff and struggles to adjust. Lacks footwork in pass protection. Average athlete.
Overall: Swoboda is a size prospect with terrific arm length and next-level strength. His game has limitations, yet he’ll be an attractive strongside blocker for a team that runs a power-gap offense.
Samuel Jackson, OL
Strengths: Versatile and underrated offensive lineman who can be used at multiple positions. Strong, fires off the snap, and quickly gets into blocks. Bends his knees and blocks with leverage. Turns defenders from the action, easily anchors in pass protection, and is explosive at the point. Gets movement run blocking and drives defenders off the line. Sized well, stays square, and holds the point.
Weaknesses: Lacks footwork in space. Not nimble enough to be used in a zone-blocking system.
Overall: Jackson was a durable 40-game starter for UCF, who was used at both guard and tackle. He possesses next-level size and smarts and could back up in a power-gap system.
Tylan Grable, OT
Strengths: Quick, athletic tackle with size and upside. Blocks with terrific leverage, gets underneath opponents, and uses his legs. Displays range and footwork off the edge, quickly gets to the second level, and shows ability in motion. Stays square, anchors in pass protection, and controls defenders at the point. Keeps his feet moving, makes good use of angles, and displays terrific blocking vision.

Weaknesses: Lacks balance blocking in motion. Readies himself rather than firing into blocks. Gets minimal movement run blocking.
Overall: Grable is a tall offensive lineman who did a terrific job for Central Florida after transferring from Jacksonville State. He has an upside and is worth stashing on a practice squad as he adds bulk to his frame, completes his game, and develops an NFL body.
