Tyreek Hill savaged Giants WR over Daniel Jones contract

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill was the latest NFL player to take a shot at New York Giants QB Daniel Jones over his new contract.

Daniel Jones signed a four-year, $160 million contract prior to the franchise tag deadline on Tuesday. While that looks like a lot of money — and it is — there are a few catches. First, only $82 million is guaranteed at signing, so Jones will have to earn the rest with his play.

Second, the Giants have a potential out in his deal after the 2025 season, in which Jones will be 28 years old. In the end, New York believed in their quarterback enough to assume he’ll continue to improve until then.

Jones contract isn’t an indictment on the player himself, but more the status of quarterback deals at this time. Derek Carr and Jones should not be setting the market. Deshaun Watson, while talented, shouldn’t be the highest-paid QB in football given his previous off-field transgressions. Something is off here.

Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill shades Giants QB Daniel Jones

Tyreek Hill got himself involved in a beef between Darius Slayton and Jaquan Brisker, who play for the Giants and Bears respectfully. Slayton posted the final score of the game between the two teams from early last season, in which New York defeated Chicago, 20-12. That’s not exactly an impressive offensive output, but a win is a win.

That’s when Hill got involved and made a very similar point.

Tyreek isn’t discriminating — he has no problem with those slant routes from Tua because he can take them to the house in record timing.

Unless the NFL institutes tighter guidelines on contracts, it’s likely the QB market will continue to increase. There’s such an emphasis on the passing game and quarterback play in this generation of football, and until that changes, the price tag won’t, either.
