Odell Beckham Jr. getting Cowboys fans hopes up with hype video

Free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. posted a hype video that will get Dallas Cowboys fans excited again about the possibility of signing him.

There are moves being made ahead of the 2023 NFL year. There were teams that placed franchise tags on their top impending free agents, quarterback Derek Carr signed with the New Orleans Saints, and the New York Giants retained signal caller Daniel Jones on a four-year, $160 million contract. This is just a preview of what will be coming once the free agency negotiation window officially opens up on Monday, March 13.

When it comes to the wide receiver free agency class, Odell Beckham is still one of the top names to follow. After going on a brief free agency tour in the middle of this past season, notably with the Dallas Cowboys, he remained unsigned.

But on Wednesday, Beckham posted a video on his Instagram of himself running deep downfield, showing that he has recovered from his torn ACL. Not just that, but he made an incredible one-handed grab in the short clip.

The Cowboys faithful will certainly be imploring for owner Jerry Jones to make a push to sign Beckham again. Especially after how the season ended for the NFC East team.

After sending Tom Brady into retirement again after beating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Wild Card Round, the Cowboys lost 19-12 to the San Francisco 49ers in what was a winnable game. The team has already made changes to the offense, parting ways with offensive coordinator Kellen Moore and announcing that head coach Mike McCarthy will be calling the plays for next season. Not to mention that tight end Dalton Schultz is expected to hit free agency. With that last factor, adding a wide receiver to get some pressure off of CeeDee Lamb should be a priority for the Cowboys.

As mentioned earlier, the Cowboys did bring Beckham in for a visit, which was highlighted by the wide receiver sitting court side at a Dallas Cowboys game with linebacker Micah Parsons and cornerback Trevon Diggs. But, Beckham was deemed not 100-percent to return for the 2022 season, so a deal never transpired.

Even after not signing him this past season, Jones is still interested in bringing in Beckham, saying on March 3 that, “he’s somebody that I have the same kind of interest that I had in him during the season,” h/t ESPN’s Todd Archer.

Once the negotiation window officially opens up, it will be interesting to see who will pursue Beckham, and if the Cowboys will be one of those teams.
