New York Giants 2020

New York Giants – The NFC East Sleeper Team to Watch in 2020

The slow march to the Super Bowl title starts on Thursday September 10th, 2020. For the NFC East, one team that has not received a ton of attention during the offseason that has the potential to make the division one of the most exciting in the NFL is the New York Giants. While the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles are the early favorites to compete for the title and the Washington Football Club takes a new step with Ron Rivera as the head coach, the New York Giants have some talented weapons on offense that could make the difficult to slow down in 2020.

As the Giants prepare to open up the 2020 NFL season on Monday Night Football, the Giants will look to rebound from a disaster 2019 NFL schedule that saw them finish with a just a 4-12 record. Despite their struggles the Giants have the fire power on offense to take a big stride forward in 2020 and potentially be an NFL sleeper team to watch as they make the NFC East an exciting division to watch. The Giants success in 2020 will be revolve around their offense that is led by former Penn State Nittany Lions running back Saquon Barkley and second year quarterback Daniel Jones.

Barkley is coming of his second straight 1,000 yard campaign but battled some injuries during his sophomore season in the NFL. Meanwhile Jones who took over for Eli Manning will look to improve on his 3,027 yards passing, 24 touchdown and 12 interception season. As Barkley and Jones look to help put the Giants back in the playoffs, the Giants have other weapons on their offense that will make it difficult for opposing defences to slow them down.

Those weapons include tight end Evan Engram as well as wide receivers Darius Slayton, Sterling Shepard and Golden Tate. Engram enters the season as one of the top young tight ends in the NFL after pulling in at least 44 catches in back to back season while becoming a proven red zone threat. Meanwhile Shepard and Tate both have shown their ability to make big plays at the NFL level. The last piece to the puzzle is second year receiver Darius Slayton who is coming off a 740 yard season with eight touchdowns.

With each of those weapons and a big stride forward by Jones, the New York Giants will look to take home the NFC East. As their success revolves around Barkley and Jones, the two have the potential to help return the New York Giants to the postseason in 2020.
