Former Patriots quarterback fuels Tom Brady return rumors

Here we go again (for the 100th time): a former Patriots quarterback thinks Tom Brady is coming back to the NFL in 2023.

At this point, there’s nothing more Tom Brady could do to convince the NFL community that he is retired for good.

Just a day (A DAY) after Brady denied the rumors of him potentially joining the Miami Dolphins, former New England Patriots quarterback Scott Zolak has opened Pandora’s Box again.

Zolak said he believes a Brady move to Miami is “100 percent in play” and that he didn’t buy the “kitten tweet.”

One of the reasons Brady gave for not returning to the NFL was that he adopted a kitten for his daughter, and Zolak just flat-out denied it. As if it was inconceivable that the G.O.A.T. would do such a thing like dedicating his time to rescuing shelter animals. No, Brady’s true and only purpose was to play football, and by the manifestations of a former mediocre quarterback, he’s going to continue doing so.

Zolak could have used his platform to hypothesize Aaron Rodgers trades to the New York Jets or dark horse Lamar Jackson suitors or discuss literally anything else going on in the NFL. Bryce Young being short. Travis Kelce’s bits on SNL. Astroturf. Instead, he chooses to keep pulling out the nails of Tom Brady’s coffin and dragging out a non-issue.

Brady’s second retirement feels much more final than his first, and the legend’s actions ever since then have measured up to his words. He’s set to take an analyst job with FOX in 2024 and plans to treat this year as a gap year of sorts in which he focuses on the non-football parts of his life.

That includes, say, buying a kitten for his daughter. Taking thirst trap pictures in his hotel room. Probably calling his loved ones once in a while. You know, normal people things.

At the end of the day, people believe what they want to hear, and a good portion of the U.S. population does not want Brady to retire. As much as that may inflate Brady’s ego, he is happy exactly where he is.
