Every NFL Team’s top MVP candidate for 2023 season

Patrick Mahomes won his second NFL MVP in 2022 and he’s the consensus favorite to repeat, but we all know that there are surprises in the MVP race all the time. This time last year, Jalen Hurts was +3000 to win the MVP and he nearly won the award, and that bet might have cashed if he hadn’t gotten hurt near the end of the season.

Here I’ve laid out the player on every team with the best MVP odds. Maybe there’s a team out there that you think will be a surprise contender, or you think it’s been too long since somebody from your favorite team won the award, or maybe you’re just a gambler like me and want to find some early offseason value before the trade market, free agency, and the draft shake things up.

Here are the MVP odds from DraftKings Sportsbook.

Odds to win NFL MVP in 2023 season

1. Patrick Mahomes (+650) – Kansas City Chiefs

You could give it to him every single year, but are the voters going to get bored of that?

2. Joe Burrow (+700) – Cincinnati Bengals

Burrow couldn’t get back to the Super Bowl, but he got damn close. He’ll keep winning and the individual accolades will follow. They just need to make sure they keep Tee Higgins in town.

3. Josh Allen (+750) – Buffalo Bills

Allen was the favorite going into last season, but a nagging elbow injury seemed to derail his season.

4. Justin Herbert (+1000) – Los Angeles Chargers

Herbert finally got to the playoffs, it didn’t go great, but Joe Lombardi is out as OC and Kellen Moore is in.

5. Jalen Hurts (+1100) – Jalen Hurts

Hurts would have been the MVP if he didn’t get hurt and was easily the best player in the Super Bowl. It might not be this year, but Hurts will win one in his career.

6. Lamar Jackson (+1500) – Baltimore Ravens

Will Lamar Jackson even be on the Ravens this year? They do have Pro-Bowl quarterback, Tyler Huntley.

7. Tua Tagovailoa (+1600) – Miami Dolphins

Tua looked like an MVP candidate before his scary string of concussions.

8. Aaron Rodgers (+1600) – Green Bay Packers

Rodgers is never a bad bet for MVP, but he might be a bad bet to be on the Packers come Week 1. Jordan Love is +3500.

9. Trevor Lawrence (+1600) – Jacksonville Jaguars

Lawrence made the leap, he’s an elite guy and now his team is getting Calvin Ridley and maybe somebody else on offense in the draft or free agency.

10. Dak Prescott (+1800) – Dallas Cowboys

Dak was incredible against Tampa Bay in the playoffs, but Mike McCarthy has taken over play calling for this year.

11. Justin Fields (+2500) – Chicago Bears

Fields turned Chicago into a must watch team and it only won three games.

12. Deshuan Watson (+3000) – Cleveland Browns

Watson has played like an MVP candidate before, but even if he does will MVP voters be willing to give him the nod?

13. Trey Lance (+3500) – San Francisco 49ers

Will we finally get to see Trey Lance play in Kyle Shanahan’s system? Brock Purdy is +7500.

14. Geno Smith (+3500) – Seattle Seahawks

At this time last year, Drew Lock had the best odds of anybody on Seattle. Now a year later, Geno Smith is a Pro Bowler (not the Tyler Huntley fake Pro Bowler) and has the same odds as Russell Wilson

15. Russell Wilson (+3500) – Denver Broncos

Denver better hope Sean Payton can fix this. Wilson was eighth in MVP odds at +1500 this time last year.

16. Jared Goff (+4500) – Detroit Lions

Ben Johnson might be the best play caller in the NFL and it’s huge for Detroit that he didn’t leave to become a head coach.

17. Kenny Pickett (+4000) – Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers went 5-1 to finish the year and the one game they lost, Kenny Pickett got hurt after one pass attempt. A big year two is coming from Kenny f’ing Pickett.

18. Matthew Stafford (+5000) – Los Angeles Rams

The Rams had the season from hell in 2022 that included Stafford who was hurt all year. He played just nine games.

19. Kirk Cousins (+5000) – Minnesota Vikings

We already knew everything we need to about Kirk Cousins, but this throw confirmed it:

20. Derek Carr (+5000) – New Orleans Saints

Well he’s better than Andy Dalton. By how much, I’m not sure.

21. Daniel Jones (+5000) – New York Giants

Danny Dimes had the best year of his career under Brian Daboll, but still finished the year with just 15 touchdown passes. Now, he’s a free agent and reportedly wants $45 million a year.

22. Kyler Murray (+6500) – Arizona Cardinals

“Hey Alexa, how long does it take for a torn ACL to heal?”

23. Mac Jones (+6500) – New England Patriots

Bill O’Brien is back in New England, so Mac finally has a real offensive coordinator.

24. Kyle Trask (+7500) – Tampa Bay Buccaneers

With Anthony Richardson in the draft, Trask won’t even be the best first-year starting QB out of Florida.

25. Sam Howell (+8000) – Washington Commanders

Ron Rivera said Howell is the Week 1 starter as of now, maybe he’s the long term answer at QB in Washington.

26. Sam Darnold (+8000) – Carolina Panthers

The Panthers owner, David Tepper is tired of retread QB’s this team is swinging big in the draft.

27. Jonathan Taylor (+10000) – Indianapolis Colts

Taylor had a disappointing year in 2022 after his great 2021. Could he bounce back and go for 2,000 yards in Shane Steichen’s offense with a rookie QB?

28. Davis Mills (+10000) – Houston Texans

Unless the Texans completely botch the draft or hate all the QB prospects, Mills will be a backup in 2023.

29. Desmond Ridder (+10000) — Atlanta Falcons

It feels like we see a big jump from a second year quarterback every year and maybe under Arthur Smith it’ll be Ridder who breaks out.

30. Ryan Tannehill (+10000) – Tennessee Titans

Just today it was reported that Tennessee is shopping Derrick Henry, so maybe Tannehill starts airing it out?

31. Davante Adams (+15000) – Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders need a quarterback after letting Derek Carr get away, but no matter who that is they’ll love throwing to Adams who had his third straight year with 1,000+ yards and 10+ TDs.

32. Garrett Wilson (+20000) – New York Jets

Wilson’s a great receiver and maybe Aaron Rodgers comes to New York and saves this team, but then wouldn’t Rodgers just be the MVP?
