Chargers vs. Jaguars How To Watch, Start Time, Streaming, Betting Info, and More

The Los Angeles Chargers will be heading to Florida to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars in our Saturday Night Football nightcap. Trevor Lawrence vs. Justin Herbert, what more could the NFL want? It is a battle of two premier stars in the NFL, two guys who bring a ton of excitement to the league with their dynamic passing attacks.

Both teams are looking for playoff success for the first time in a while. The Chargers are coming to the end of Herbert’s rookie deal, and it would be a shame if they come away with zero playoff wins during that window. Meanwhile, the Jags haven’t been in the playoffs since 2017. In the first year of Doug Pederson’s rebuild, Jacksonville could make some noise.

Let’s start by addressing the metaphorical elephant in the room. Chargers head coach Brandon Staley committed the unthinkable in Week 18, playing his starters in a meaningless game when they had already locked up the fifth seed in the playoff with no opportunities to go any higher.

Well, the football gods do not appreciate it when coaches make silly decisions like that. So much so that they decided to reward Staley with injuries to WR Mike Williams and DE Joey Bosa. Now, the Chargers come into this game with “momentum” but also a significantly longer injury report.

Will that change anything in this one? Maybe, maybe not. But limping into the first round when you have struggled with injuries all season is not a good look.

Meanwhile, Jacksonville has had one of the most miraculous turnarounds in NFL history, going on an impressive run to finish the year and win the AFC South. Although pundits had written this team off midseason, Lawrence’s play has put them right back into the thick of things. They are a young team, but they are incredibly fun to watch.

These squads have been great against the spread this season, with identical 8-1-1 records over their last 10.

As the spread indicates, these are two similar teams. It honestly feels like they both have the same strengths and weaknesses. However, two big factors lead me to believe that the Jaguars will win this one. First, they have a competent, Super Bowl-winning coach in Pederson. Second, they are at home, and we all know Chargers fans do not travel (or attend home games for that matter).

Pederson is also 14-4 against the spread when he is an underdog at home. Take the Jaguars.

Chargers vs. Jaguars Prediction: Jaguars 23, Chargers 21
