Washington Commanders rookie running back Brian Robinson Jr. was running drills on the practice field weeks after being shot in the right leg.
After impressing throughout the preseason, the Washington Commanders and NFL world were informed that running back Brian Robinson Jr. was shot in the right leg twice as a victim in an attempted armed robbery. He was listed as being in stable condition when he was transported to a hospital. In fact, he visited the Commanders facility in a matter of days.
Now, there is a new update on Robinson.
On Sept. 15, Robinson shared a video of himself making a return to the practice field, where he was running some individual drills.

This is great news, as Robinson makes his recovery.
Robinson underwent surgery on his right leg, but suffered no structural damage. Robinson was placed on the non-football injury list, which will sideline him for the team’s first four weeks of the season.
ESPN senior NFL insider Adam Schefter reported that there is a “realistic chance” that Robinson returns for Week 5.
The Commanders selected Robinson in the third-round of this year’s NFL Draft. Robinson was the star running back for the Alabama Crimson Tide. In his final year with the program (2021), he ran for 1,343 yards and 14 touchdowns on 271 carries, while catching 35 passes for 296 yards and two touchdowns.
Robinson shined in the preseason, as he ran for 57 yards and one touchdown on 14 carries in two games (vs. Carolina Panthers and Kansas City Chiefs).
Fans will be keeping an eye on Washington’s Week 5 game against the Tennessee Titans.
