Breece Hall Dynasty Value | Fantasy Outlook, Rankings, and More

Describing the New York Jets‘ offensive production throughout the 2023 NFL season as disappointing feels like an egregious understatement. The loss of QB Aaron Rodgers just four offensive plays into the year helped watch the fantasy ceiling of many individually talented skill position players collapse in the blink of an eye.

So, what does it say about RB Breece Hall’s dynasty fantasy football value moving forward that he finished the year as the RB2 in PPR formats on one of the worst offenses in the league in 2023?

Breece Hall’s Dynasty Outlook

When you realize the Jets’ offense currently ranked 31st in total yards and 29th in scoring last season, it is quite remarkable that Hall finished the year as a top-five back in PPR formats. Keep in mind that the Jets limited his workload significantly through the first month of the 2023 season while trying to manage him following his surgically repaired knee from last year.

Since New York elected to make Hall the featured back in Week 5, we’ve seen him produce a fantasy floor in PPR formats in a terrible offense by catching an average of five passes per game.

Sure, the rushing efficiency has dropped by over a full yard per carry since his rookie campaign. However, some of these efficiency issues can certainly be tied to a struggling offensive line, poor quarterback play, and his first season back from a significant knee injury.

If I were a fantasy shareholder of Hall, I would be highly encouraged by what we’ve seen from him this year, which certainly makes him a top-five asset at the RB position in dynasty formats.

Should You Trade Hall?

Are you considering trading Hall in dynasty? Our PFN Trade Analyzer allows you to find the best trades to make in seconds! It also allows us to see trending searches, which we’ve compiled a few of the most popular below.

Should You Trade Hall for De’Von Achane?

Hall and explosive Miami Dolphins rookie RB De’Von Achane have both had their fair share of durability issues in their respective rookie seasons. Achane’s efficiency and production when on the field this season have certainly been exceptional, but I do have some doubts about him being a bell-cow back in the NFL.

While Hall suffered a devastating knee injury in his first season, he’s bounced back in a big way and has a lengthy track record of feature-type workloads dating back to his days at Iowa State.

Achane certainly has the advantage about his offensive situation with Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle helping the Dolphins run into seven-man fronts regularly, but Hall’s could improve drastically next year if QB Aaron Rodgers does stick around for the 2024 season.

I would not trade Hall for Achane in dynasty formats.

Should You Trade Hall for Travis Etienne Jr.?

Similar to Hall, Travis Etienne Jr. had an injury-plagued rookie campaign. Etienne has looked like a top-five dynasty RB at moments this season. Both players have a similar three-down skill set, but one plays with Trevor Lawrence under center, while the other is hoping that a 40-year-old QB will return next season.

Despite Etienne’s fantastic 2023 season and his pairing with a potential franchise quarterback with a sky-high ceiling, the production we got from Hall in a struggling offense gives him a bit higher ceiling in the coming years if Rodgers can produce another season or two of elite production at the QB position. I would not trade Hall for Etienne.

Should You Trade Hall for Jonathan Taylor?

Indianapolis Colts RB Jonathan Taylor has a rushing title on his NFL résumé and certainly had his moments in 2023 where he looked like the dominant Jonathan Taylor of old.

A big positive for Taylor’s dynasty outlook is the fact he inked a contract extension this offseason, meaning he’ll be a big part of Indy’s offense alongside QB Anthony Richardson for the foreseeable future.

This one is very close; both players have an RB1-type ceiling in 2024. If I were a team looking to rebuild, I’d probably prefer the slightly younger Hall. However, in a vacuum, Taylor feels like the more valuable fantasy asset at this very moment.
