Antonio Brown being sued by jeweler over alleged $1 million debt

Former Buccaneers wideout Antonio Brown has gotten himself into some hot water with his jeweler, whom he allegedly owes a massive chunk of money.

Antonio Brown has made the news for everything from taking off his shirt in a moment of pure insanity to trolling Tom Brady, and his most recent headline continues to de-glamourize the once-promising wideout.

The former Pittsburgh Steelers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver is being sued for owing his jeweler over $1 million for pieces he received in 2022.

The jeweler, Shuki International, has a long-standing relationship with high-profile athletes and apparently hooked Brown up with diamond fingers and a white gold chain, among other expensive pieces.

According to TMZ, Brown allegedly failed to pay nearly $1.095 million for the jewelry and is now facing a hefty lawsuit.

For those who don’t believe in karma or things coming full circle, get this: Brown supposedly owes $1 million to his jeweler. In the 2021 season, when Brown was still with the Bucs, he had several incentives built into his contract that would have paid him a handsome bonus. Just how much of a bonus? Roughly $1 million.

Antonio Brown gets slapped with a lawsuit after racking up $1 million in debt

During his stint on the Bucs, Brown finished eight receptions, 55 receiving yards, and one receiving touchdown shy of $999,999 in total contract incentives for the 2021 season.

Brown’s target incentives were listed as 50 receptions, 600 yards, and five touchdowns; he recorded 42 catches for 545 yards and one touchdown in seven games.

If only he hadn’t taken off his shirt….Taking jabs at then-Bucs QB Tom Brady so publicly on social media likely didn’t help his fate, either. In leaking his private conversations with Brady, all Brown revealed was how much Brady wanted Brown to succeed in Tampa Bay and how good of a friend Brady was to him.

If Brown was having, say, money problems with his jeweler, Brady would have likely been more than happy to help his teammate out.

Two years later, Brown is out $1 million and has completely alienated himself from the NFL.

We, for one, hope Antonio Brown’s life story gets turned into a movie like Uncut Gems, but with more reckless behavior and anxiety-inducing drama. And on a more serious note, we also do hope Brown gets the help he needs.
