10 snapshots that capture the chaotic essence of NFL Week 1

In case you missed the highlights, here are ten moments from Week 1 that capture the chaotic essence that was the return of the NFL season.

After months of tortuous wait, Week 1 of the 2022 NFL season finally arrived. A span of a mere five days, and like that, it’s now over.

NFL fans will now have to wait an excruciating two days before football comes back, so in the meantime, here are some highlights that capture the essence of Week 1.

There was kicker carnage alleviated by the deliverance of a couple game-winning kicks. There were revenge games on revenge games, and not everyone got revenge the way you might imagine — but some players definitely did.

Then there were the plays you live for: the user lurk interceptions that change the game, the celebrations, the condemnations, the missed communications, the touchdown victory laps, and everything in between.

It was a sight to behold, and photographs allow some of the best moments to live forever. Here are ten moments from NFL Week 1 that are worth reliving.

Wilson has taken his fair share of hits, and we’re not just talking about his offensive line (which, by the way, had ironically improved in Seattle since his departure).

No, Wilson has been clowned over and over for being corny, with everything from calling himself “Mr. Unlimited” to playing pretend during a thumb injury last season.

But “Let’s Ride” trumps it all: it’s the insufferable cheesiness of Russ that has gone sour in Seattle. Somehow, it’s even worse now.

It’s impossible to know what Russ was thinking in this moment, but closing his eyes and spreading his arms as he emerges from darkness to embrace light…do we really need this heavy of a metaphor for your Broncos rebrand, Russ?

Like Aaron Rodgers’ pre-game sauciness before facing the Vikings, this only grew more delicious in the loss.
