NFL rumors are running wild heading into free agency with Jerry Jones’ maybe tipping his hand over his “big move”, Daniel Jones about to get himself tagged and Robbie Gould on the move.

There are NFL rumors, and then there’s keeping up with the Joneses…

Jerry Jones is up to something, per usual. Daniel Jones like his money more than Levon, and no, I don’t think Alvin Tostig every had a son like this one. And apparently, the San Francisco 49ers have waited too long to find someone who will kick field goals for them. Nothing gold can stay, not even if your name is Robbie Gould. So let’s see what things the NFL has gotten itself into this weekend.

Behold! The latest and most wondrous batch of NFL rumors to grace god’s green earth on Sunday.

NFL rumors: Active career points leader Robbie Gould is about to hit the market

It’s been a great ride in NorCal for one Robbie Gould, but nothing gold can stay. The NFL’s active career points leader is taking his talents to South Beach, or possibly to a franchise near you! Despite having a great half-dozen years with the San Francisco 49ers, Gould intends to play in 2023, but most definitely for somebody else now. This breakup hurts more than you can imagine.

Gould may have been part of Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch’s first free-agent class in 2017, but San Francisco is not about to use the franchise tag on anyone this, much less a 40-year-old kicker. To leave a situation where contending for, but never winning, Super Bowls is rather bold, but if you want to be the best, you’ve got to beat the best, something the 49ers keep coming up short with.

Gould confirmed to NBC Sports Bay Area that he does intend to move on from the 49ers in 2023.

“I’m nowhere near retiring. I got a lot left to do from a career perspective — No. 1 being winning a Super Bowl. And, two, I’m pretty close to a lot of milestones I think would be pretty neat to be able to accomplish.”

If a contending team needs a sure-footed kicker to get over the top, Gould could be your hero.
