NFL Week 7 Injury Tracker
Jacksonville Jaguars at New Orleans Saints (TNF)
- Jaguars: QB Trevor Lawrence, QUESTIONABLE (ankle); WR Zay Jones, OUT (knee); OL Walker Little, OUT (knee); G Brandon Scherff, QUESTIONABLE (ankle); DT DaVon Hamilton, OUT (back); CB Tyson Campbell, OUT (hamstring)
- Saints: RB Jamaal Williams, QUESTIONABLE (hamstring); TE Juwan Johnson, OUT (calf); OT Ryan Ramczyk, OUT (concussion); OT Landon Young, OUT (hip); OL James Hurst, OUT (ankle); LB Demario Davis, QUESTIONABLE (knee); S J.T. Gray, OUT (hamstring); S Lonnie Johnson, QUESTIONABLE (hamstring); S Tyrann Mathieu, QUESTIONABLE (foot)
Jaguars: Lawrence is optimistic that he’ll be able to play on Thursday night, and the Saints are preparing as if they’ll face Jacksonville’s QB1. But Lawrence is officially limited, while the Jaguars added Nathan Rourke to their active roster as a potential emergency third quarterback. C.J. Beathard will start if Lawrence can’t suit up.
Jones will miss his second consecutive game (and fourth this year) with a recurring knee issue. So if Lawrence plays, he’ll be without his WR3, his starting left guard (Little), and potentially his starting right guard (Scherff).
Campbell is also an underrated absence, given that he’s developed into an excellent corner. Montaric Brown replaced Campbell on Sunday and will take his snaps on TNF.
Saints: Williams is still technically on injured reserve (IR) but can be activated before tonight’s game. He’s been limited all week as he works his way back from a hamstring injury but could slot back in as New Orleans’ RB2 behind Alvin Kamara.
Like the Jaguars, the Saints are dealing with significant offensive line issues. With Ramcyzk and Hurst, New Orleans must rethink its starting five. We may ultimately see Trevor Penning at left tackle, Andrus Peat at left guard, Nick Saldiveri at right guard, and Cesar Ruiz at right tackle.
Detroit Lions at Baltimore Ravens
- Lions: RB David Montgomery (ribs); RB Jahmyr Gibbs (hamstring); RB Craig Reynolds (hamstring/toe); TE Sam LaPorta (calf); TE James Mitchell (hamstring); G Jonah Jackson (ankle); EDGE Joshua Paschal (knee); DB Brian Branch (ankle)
- Ravens: EDGE Odafe Oweh (ankle); EDGE Malik Harrison (concussion); DT Brent Urban (back); CB Kevon Seymour (ankle); S Marcus Williams (hamstring)
Lions: Detroit doesn’t have a fully healthy running back on its roster. Montgomery — who did not practice on Wednesday — is expected to miss time with a rib injury. The Lions have a Week 10 bye and could theoretically hold their RB1 out until then.
Gibbs has missed the last two games but was limited today, a positive sign for his Week 7 availability. Reynolds, expected to play a larger role with Montgomery sidelined, couldn’t practice on Wednesday. Detroit has Devine Ozigbo (elevated on Sunday) and Mohamed Ibrahim on its practice squad.
Ravens: Oweh is back on the practice field for the first time since injuring his ankle in Week 2. With David Ojabo and Tyus Bowser sidelined, Baltimore needs its former first-round edge rusher back.
Williams, who missed time with a pectoral injury earlier this year, is now dealing with a hamstring problem. Head coach John Harbaugh called the veteran safety “week to week,” and Williams is not expected to suit up against the Lions.
Las Vegas Raiders at Chicago Bears
- Raiders: QB Jimmy Garoppolo (back); WR Davante Adams (shoulder); OT Justin Herron (concussion); EDGE Maxx Crosby (knee/thumb); CB Nate Hobbs (ankle); CB Jakorian Bennett (shoulder/knee); CB Tyler Hall (ankle)
- Bears: QB Justin Fields (right thumb); RB Roschon Johnson (concussion); RB Travis Homer (hamstring); OT Darnell Wright (shoulder); G Nate Davis (ankle); G Dan Feeney (knee); EDGE Yannick Ngakoue (back); CB Terell Smith (illness); S Eddie Jackson (foot)
Raiders: Garoppolo left Sunday’s win over the New England Patriots with a back injury and did not return. While head coach Josh McDaniels said Las Vegas “dodged a bullet,” Garoppolo’s failure to practice on Wednesday isn’t a great sign for his Week 7 availability.
Adams has been beginning his weeks with DNPs as he works through a shoulder injury, so his limited participation on Wednesday represented something of an upgrade.
Hobbs, who hasn’t played since Week 3, sat out of today’s practice alongside Garoppolo and Herron. Every other injured Raider managed at least a limited practice.
Bears: Fields, who cannot grip a football, is considered doubtful for Week 7. Former Division II quarterback Tyson Bagent is in line to make his first NFL start after relieving Fields against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.
Johnson is still in the NFL’s concussion protocol, but it’s hard to imagine he won’t get cleared after missing last week’s game. He’ll likely be Chicago’s RB1, with D’Onta Foreman and Homer (expected to return on Sunday) mixing in.
Cleveland Browns at Indianapolis Colts
- Browns: QB Deshaun Watson (right shoulder); RB Kareem Hunt (thigh); WR Cedric Tillman (hip); TE Harrison Bryant (hip); G Joel Bitonio (knee); LB Anthony Walker Jr. (concussion); CB Greg Newsome (hamstring)
- Colts: WR Alec Pierce (shoulder); TE Kylen Granson (concussion); OT Braden Smith (hip); CB Tony Brown (back)
Browns: Watson failed to practice on Wednesday, but he did speak to the media and offer an update on his injury status. While Watson indicated there’s a chance he could play on Sunday, he also said he “can’t put a timeline on anything right now.” P.J. Walker will draw a second straight start if Watson can’t play.
Bitonio — who missed last week’s win over the San Francisco 49ers — was limited, but every other injured Brown missed practice on Wednesday. Cleveland’s injury reports on Thursday and Friday will give us a better idea of who will be available in Week 7.
Colts: Team owner Jim Irsay confirmed Anthony Richardson will undergo season-ending surgery to repair the AC joint injury in his right shoulder. With Richardson headed toward (IR), Gardner Minshew will be Indy’s QB1 for the remainder of the season.
None of the Colts’ injured players practiced on Wednesday. Smith was the only one to miss last week’s game — if he can’t play against the Browns, rookie Blake Freeland will make another start at right tackle.
Buffalo Bills at New England Patriots
- Bills: QB Josh Allen (right shoulder); RB Damien Harris (neck/concussion); TE Quintin Morris (ankle); EDGE Greg Rousseau (foot); DT Ed Oliver (toe); CB Dane Jackson (foot); CB Kaiir Elam (ankle); DB Cam Lewis (shoulder)
- Patriots: RB Rhamondre Stevenson (ankle); WR JuJu Smith-Schuster (concussion); WR Demario Douglas (concussion); TE Hunter Henry (ankle); OT Trent Brown (chest); OT Riley Reiff (knee); G Mike Onwenu (ankle); G Cole Strange (knee); C David Andrews (ankle); EDGE Josh Uche (knee/foot); EDGE Keion White (concussion); EDGE Trey Flowers (foot); DT Christian Barmore (knee); DT Davon Godchaux (ankle); CB Jonathan Jones (ankle); CB Jack Jones (hamstring); CB Shaun Wade (shoulder); S Kyle Dugger (foot); DB Jabrill Peppers (knee); DB Cody Davis (knee)
Bills: Coming off a Sunday night game, Buffalo only held a walkthrough on Wednesday. Allen was able to participate but was limited. Head coach Sean McDermott said the Bills would “see how (Allen) does today” but suggested he trusts the veteran quarterback to be forthright about his health.
Harris, Morris, and Oliver were the only injured Buffalo players who failed to practice on Wednesday. Harris had to be taken off the field in an ambulance in Week 6, but he has full movement and seems to be recovering.
Patriots: New England’s injury report has been lengthy every single week. The Patriots are listing a whopping 20 players ahead of Sunday’s AFC East matchup.
Only six injured New England players failed to practice on Wednesday: Henry, Brown, Reiff, Uche, White, and Jonathan Jones. Reiff was the only member of that group to miss Week 6, while Jones came out of that game with an ankle injury after missing time earlier this season.
Washington Commanders at New York Giants
- Commanders: G Chris Paul (back); EDGE Montez Sweat (finger); EDGE James Smith-Williams (foot); DT Jonathan Allen (knee); CB Kendall Fuller (knee); CB Christian Holmes (hamstring); S Kam Curl (ankle)
- Giants: QB Daniel Jones (neck); RB Saquon Barkley (ankle); WR Wan’Dale Robinson (knee); OT Andrew Thomas (hamstring); OT Evan Neal (ankle); OT Matt Peart (shoulder); G Mark Glowinski (quad/ankle); G Shane Lemieux (biceps/groin); C John Michael Schmitz (shoulder); CB Adoree’ Jackson (neck); CB Cor’Dale Flott (ankle/shoulder); K Graham Gano (left knee)
Commanders: Washington, which had been incredibly healthy in recent weeks, has a slightly longer injury report ahead of Sunday’s NFC East battle. Still, Fuller was the only Commander who failed to practice due to injury on Wednesday.
Giants: New York is as banged up as any team in the NFL. Jones managed a limited practice on Wednesday, but it’s still unclear if he’ll be able to play against the Commanders after missing Week 6. Tyrod Taylor will make a second consecutive start if Jones can’t go.
Whichever quarterback plays on Sunday will likely be dodging incoming pass rushers behind an injured offensive line. Thomas, Neal, Peart, and Schmitz failed to practice on Wednesday. Neal played against the Bills in Week 6, but the other three linemen sat out.
Atlanta Falcons at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- Falcons: No injuries of note
- Buccaneers: EDGE Anthony Nelson (concussion); DT Vita Vea (foot)
Falcons: Atlanta didn’t have a single player on its injury report heading into Weeks 5 or 6. That will likely be the case again ahead of Week 7, assuming no Falcon suffers an injury during the week.
Buccaneers: Nelson practiced fully on Wednesday but doesn’t appear to have cleared the NFL’s concussion protocol just yet. Vea was limited but probably isn’t in any danger of missing Sunday’s game.
Pittsburgh Steelers at Los Angeles Rams
- Steelers: EDGE Nick Herbig (quad)
- Rams: RB Kyren Williams (ankle); WR Ben Skowronek (Achilles); OL Joe Noteboom (groin); DT Kobie Turner (shoulder); DT Larrell Muchison (knee); LB Ernest Jones (knee); CB Derion Kendrick (legal)
Steelers: Pittsburgh is pretty healthy heading into Week 6. Players like tight end Pat Freiermuth and offensive linemen Dan Moore Jr. and James Daniels — all of whom missed the Steelers’ last game in Week 5 — practiced fully on Wednesday.
Wide receiver Diontae Johnson and running back Anthony McFarland Jr. are on IR, but both fully practiced today and could return to game action as soon as Sunday.
Rams: Williams is now expected to be sidelined for multiple games and might not be able to return until after Los Angeles’ Week 10 bye. With RB2 Ronnie Rivers on IR, rookie sixth-rounder Zach Evans projects as L.A.’s starting back for the next several weeks.
The Rams also signed Royce Freeman and Myles Gaskin to their active roster and reunited with Darrell Henderson Jr. via a practice squad assignment.
Kendrick was arrested Monday on suspicion of illegal gun possession and charged with two misdemeanors.
Arizona Cardinals at Seattle Seahawks
- Cardinals: QB Kyler Murray (knee); WR Zach Pascal (neck); CB Antonio Hamilton (groin); CB Kei’Trel Clark (hamstring); CB Garrett Williams (knee); S Budda Baker (hamstring); S Jalen Thompson (hamstring)
- Seahawks: RB Zach Charbonnet (hamstring); WR DK Metcalf (ribs/hip); WR Tyler Lockett (hamstring); OT Charles Cross (toe); OT Jake Curhan (ankle); G Damien Lewis (ankle); G Phil Haynes (calf); C Evan Brown (hip); CB Tre Brown (toe); CB Artie Burns (hamstring)
Cardinals: Murray practiced Wednesday for the first time since tearing his ACL in December. He’s not a realistic candidate to play this Sunday, but Arizona will have to activate him within the next three weeks.
The Cards also designated Baker to return from IR today. He’s been sidelined by a hamstring issue since Week 1.
Pascal, Hamilton, and Thompson were the only injured Cardinals who failed to practice on Wednesday.
Seahawks: Charbonnet played his typical RB2 role behind Kenneth Walker III in Seattle’s Week 6 loss to the Bengals, but he must have picked up a hamstring injury at some point. He couldn’t practice Wednesday — if he can’t play on Sunday, DeeJay Dallas would mix in behind Walker.
Metcalf has been battling a rib injury for weeks, but Lockett’s hamstring issue is new. Lockett was limited, while Metcalf enjoyed his usual Wednesday off.
Every member of the Seahawks’ offensive line is listed on the club’s injury report. Brown and Curhan sat out entirely, while Cross, Lewis, and Haynes were limited.
Green Bay Packers at Denver Broncos
- Packers: RB Aaron Jones (hamstring); G Elgton Jenkins (knee); DT Devonte Wyatt (knee); LB De’Vondre Campbell (ankle); LB Quay Walker (knee); CB Eric Stokes (foot); S Darnell Savage (calf); S Zayne Anderson (hamstring)
- Broncos: TE Greg Dulcich (hamstring); S Justin Simmons (hip); S Kareem Jackson (neck)
Packers: Campbell was the only Green Bay player who didn’t practice on Wednesday. Head coach Matt LaFleur has already labeled the veteran linebacker doubtful for Week 7.
Jones missed Weeks 2 and 3 with a hamstring injury, then came back in Week 4 before re-aggravating the issue. He sat out of Week 5, but the Packers’ bye week and Jones’ limited participation in practice today give him an excellent shot to play on Sunday.
Stokes is still on IR but could be activated before Week 7. The former first-round corner is not expected to be a starter when he returns.
Broncos: Dulcich’s hamstring injury cost him four games earlier this season, and he re-injured himself when he returned to the field in Week 6. The second-year tight end may end up going back on IR — 9News’ Mike Klis said it will be a surprise if Dulcich isn’t sent back to injured reserve.
Los Angeles Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs
- Chargers: EDGE Joey Bosa (toe); DT Sebastian Joseph-Day (knee); LB Amen Ogbongbemiga (hamstring); CB Deane Leonard (hamstring); S Alohi Gilman (heel); S Raheem Layne (knee)
- Chiefs: WR Justin Watson (elbow)
Chargers: Running back Austin Ekeler is no longer listed on Los Angeles’ injury report, while quarterback Justin Herbert (finger) fully participated in Wednesday’s walkthrough. Both players suited up in Week 6 and shouldn’t have any issues moving forward.
Bosa was limited on Wednesday, which is actually a positive sign given that he had been starting weeks with DNPs. Gilman, Layne, and Leonard failed to practice today, which could present a problem for the Chargers’ secondary.
Chiefs: Watson has a dislocated elbow but will not be placed on IR. He’s the only Kansas City player who failed to practice on Wednesday. Travis Kelce, who was questionable with an ankle injury but played in Week 6, fully practiced.
Miami Dolphins at Philadelphia Eagles (SNF)
- Dolphins: RB Chris Brooks (ankle/knee); FB Alec Ingold (foot); C Connor Williams (groin); CB Xavien Howard (groin); CB Jalen Ramsey (knee); CB Kader Kohou (neck); CB Nik Needham (Achilles)
- Eagles: WR DeVonta Smith (hamstring); TE Dallas Goedert (groin); OT Lane Johnson (ankle); DT Jalen Carter (ankle); DT Milton Williams (ankle); CB Darius Slay (knee); CB Bradley Roby (shoulder); S Reed Blankenship (ribs)
Dolphins: Ramsey was expected to be sidelined until December after undergoing an August meniscus repair, but he was back at practice on Monday. Miami now has a three-week window during which it must activate Ramsey to its active roster.
While the Dolphins could hold Ramsey out through their Week 10 bye, head coach Mike McDaniel said “there’s a chance” the All-Pro CB could suit up before then.
Elsewhere in Miami’s secondary, Howard left Sunday’s game with a groin injury and did not return. He didn’t practice on Wednesday, but McDaniel labeled him day to day. Fellow CB Kohou was limited.
On offense, Williams is also day to day after missing Week 6 with a groin issue. Meanwhile, running back Jeff Wilson Jr. is still on IR but practiced fully today, suggesting he’ll be activated for Sunday night’s contest.
Eagles: Philadelphia only held a walkthrough on Wednesday, so it’s probably too early to be concerned about any player’s status. But Smith would not have participated had the Eagles held a real practice, so it will be worth monitoring his status for the rest of the week.
Johnson, Roby, and Blankenship all left Sunday’s loss to the Jets and failed to participate today. Head coach Nick Sirianni said he would “never count” Johnson out, even as he deals with an ankle injury. Already down Justin Evans in the secondary, Philadelphia can’t afford to be without Roby and Blankenship with Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle coming to town.
Carter and Slay were inactive in Week 6 but started this week with a limited session. Rookie safety Sydney Brown, sidelined by a hamstring injury since Week 3, isn’t even listed on the Eagles’ practice report and is expected to return on Sunday night.
