Richard Sherman is still doing his part in locking in on wide receivers. But this time, it’s as an analyst and Fox Sports 1 personality.
On Oct. 11, during “Undisputed,” the Super Bowl-winning cornerback focused his attention on Dallas Cowboys Pro Bowler CeeDee Lamb and answered the question: Is he a true No. 1 NFL wide receiver?
But Sherman’s answer helped bring out a short yet cryptic response from Lamb.
From the current NFL standings to team depth charts to coverage of every game in the 18-week NFL schedule, we have all the news from around the league to keep you up to speed!
Richard Sherman Debates on CeeDee Lamb’s Status as a No. 1 WR
Skip Bayless and Sherman engaged in the debate on whether Lamb really is a top wide receiving option in the NFL. This comes off the heels of a relatively quiet four-catch, 49-yard evening in the San Francisco 49ers’ 42-10 romp of Lamb’s team.
Long story short, Sherman gave Lamb a label.
“If you think he’s a bona fide [No. 1 wide receiver], then yeah, that’s overrated,” Sherman quickly answered.
After calling Lamb overrated, Sherman dove further by naming off all the NFL WRs who have established themselves as top wideouts for their teams.
“Then you’re saying that he’s in a conversation with Justin Jefferson, Tyreek Hill, Davante Adams, Ja’Marr Chase, Stefon Diggs, A.J. Brown, Cooper Kupp, Deebo Samuel, Terry McLaurin, and Mike Evans. You’re saying that he’s in that conversation?” Sherman asked Bayless.
Bayless answered, “Yes, yes he is in the conversation.”
But Sherman criticized the answer and then placed Lamb in another group of wide receivers.

“Then you’re not watching it. The conversation he’s in is with guys like Jaylen Waddle, like Garrett Wilson, Tyler Lockett, Tee Higgins, Brandon Aiyuk, Chris Godwin — those are really good guys. I’m not saying they’re bad receivers. I’m saying the caliber of receivers we’re talking about,” Sherman said.
Richard Sherman says CeeDee Lamb is “overrated” and “not a clear cut WR1”

Sherman continued by saying how he believes there are only 10 bona fide No. 1 wide receivers in the NFL, but Lamb isn’t in his category.
Lamb, though, opted to post a cryptic response that, in all likelihood, was directed at Sherman.

Sherman Also Sends a Message to Cowboy Fans Involving Dak Prescott
Sherman wasn’t through calling out a Cowboys-related topic.
The verbose perennial Pro Bowl cornerback then delivered one more message — this one directed toward the Cowboys fans, including Bayless, who have been critical of quarterback Dak Prescott.
“I don’t think that Dak Prescott is going anywhere in Dallas. I think he’ll be there for another five to six years,” Sherman said. “Get used to it. Get comfortable. He is a better quarterback than you give him credit for.”

Sherman added how Prescott would thrive with a better defense.
“What he needs from your defense, he’s not receiving,” Sherman said. “Dak is doing what Dak has done. He’ll have some really good games — you saw him in the first round of the playoffs last year vs. the Tampa Bay Buccaneers when he threw for 300 and a bunch of touchdowns. He balled out. But then, you need your defense to show up.”
But his final message? “Stop blaming everything on Dak.”
