The New York Jets are taking steps to address one of their glaring issues amid a tumultuous season.
Interim coach Jeff Ulbrich announced Monday that the team would host kicker workouts on Tuesday, signaling potential changes ahead of Thursday’s game.
The move comes as veteran Greg Zuerlein continues to struggle with his accuracy.
Tuesday morning saw six kickers showcase their skills at MetLife Stadium, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.
The hopefuls included Zane Gonzalez, Brayden Narveson, Riley Patterson, Spencer Shrader, Andre Szmyt, and Cade York.
The Jets are carefully weighing their options before making any decisions for their upcoming matchup against the Houston Texans.

Zuerlein’s season hit a new low during Sunday’s 25-22 loss to the Patriots, where he missed both a field goal and an extra point attempt.
The former Pro Bowler, known for his reliability throughout his 13-year NFL career, has been uncharacteristically off-target this season.
His six missed field goals and one botched extra point have landed him at the bottom of the league’s accuracy rankings among kickers with more than two attempts in 2024.
Until now, the Jets had stood firmly behind their veteran kicker, avoiding bringing in outside competition.
But with Thursday Night Football looming, the team seems ready to explore alternatives.
Among the tryout participants, only York and Narveson have seen NFL action this season.
Ulbrich also mentioned that the competition will continue into Wednesday with all six kickers before deciding on the best option for Thursday.
Right now, Zuerlein could still be in the running.
