The Kansas City Chiefs and the Jacksonville Jaguars have not disappointed on Monday Night Football. It’s another instant classic on primetime with the Jaguars taking the lead with under 30 seconds on an absolute circus play. The Jaguars only needed one yard and got it for the go-ahead touchdown, but it was not nearly as easy as it should have been.

Lawrence took the snap from under center and attempted to head back in the pocket before being stepped on by the right guard and stumbling to the turf.
He tried to pick himself up, fell back down, and got up before being touched. He found a hole and ran it in for the go-ahead score.

The Jaguars didn’t punch it in the easy way, but they pulled out the victory anyway. It was a huge win for Jacksonville, as they moved to 4-1 on the year. Lawrence’s performance was up and down, as he missed open receivers and made poor decisions, but he also made some big-time throws and was the leading passer and rusher for the Jaguars.
Lawrence completed 18 of his 25 passes for 221 yards with a touchdown to Parker Washington, as well as an interception that had a controversial no-call for pass interference. He led the team with 54 yards and punched in two touchdowns on the ground for Jacksonville. The final touchdown was the pivotal one and the knockout blow to the Chiefs, who once held a two-touchdown lead.
Lawrence delivered two consecutive passes on the final drive that marched them down the field and into the red zone. The first was a beautiful ball to Brian Thomas Jr. down the sideline, who reeled it in and held on after being hit. The second throw was a laser to Dyami Brown to set them up in a dangerous scoring position.
The drive culminated in chaos on Lawrence’s rushing touchdown. The Jaguars’ defense held on and stifled the Chiefs’ last-ditch efforts to tie the game. They are flying after a very tough 2024 season and are in a great position to make the playoffs. Although it’s early, they are keeping pace with the Indianapolis Colts in the division and have inserted themselves into conversations of the conference’s best.
