Four-time Pro Bowl running back Dalvin Cook was released by the Minnesota Vikings in early June and has remained unsigned since. Cook is coming off another stellar season in which he had over 1,000 rushing yards for the fourth consecutive year and was active for every game for the first time in his career. Cook will be just 28 years old this upcoming season and still believes he has plenty left in the tank.
But what are the betting odds for Cook’s next location, and are the New York Jets the favored landing spot?

“I think they’re pretty high, man.”
That was how Cook responded when asked about the odds of him signing with New York, and the oddsmakers certainly agree.
The Jets are now the odds-on favorites to sign Cook at -400 on DraftKings Sportsbook. Prior to the report, the Jets had the third-shortest odds at +400, which is a pretty dramatic shift.
What Other Landing Spots Remain Possible?
Before Cook’s visit to the Jets was announced, the New England Patriots were the favorites at +150, followed by the Miami Dolphins at +200 on DraftKings. Now, the Patriots trail the Jets at +425, and the Dolphins have the third-shortest odds at +850.
The Raiders at +2200 have the next shortest odds after the Dolphins, which would be interesting given their situation with Josh Jacobs.
How Would Cook Impact the Jets’ Super Bowl Odds?
The Jets are considered one of the Super Bowl favorites this season, largely due to going from Zach Wilson to Aaron Rodgers as the team’s starting quarterback. I don’t need to give you any statistics or analysis to explain just how massive of an upgrade that is.
Signing Cook would help solidify New York’s RB depth, with running back Breece Hall coming off a torn ACL. Running backs, however, never move the odds one way or the other, so if you want to bet on the Jets to win the Super Bowl, you don’t have to wait on Cook potentially signing with Gang Green.
