Analyst Names ‘Scariest Team’ In The NFC

With seven weeks of the 2025 NFL season in the books, the sample size is big enough to start drawing some conclusions.

With that in mind, NFL analyst Danny Parkins recently shared his thoughts about the best team in the NFC.

“I think [the Detroit Lions] clearly are the scariest team in the NFC. We know what the Lions offense is. The Lions are No. 1 in many statistical categories offensively. The thing that they’ve now done a couple of times this year is shock me defensively,” Parkins said.

It seemed like this was going to be a long season for the Lions.

They didn’t look prepared in their Week 1 loss to the Green Bay Packers, and losing their two coordinators was a major concern.

Fast forward to today, and offensive coordinator John Morton has made people forget about Ben Johnson.

Kelvin Sheppard has also done an outstanding job replacing Aaron Glenn as defensive coordinator.

Even with a depleted secondary, they Lions managed to hold MVP candidate Baker Mayfield in check in their Week 7 win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Now, Detroit has its bye week to regroup and restore its health.

The Lions are tied for the best record in the NFL, and they’ve been a contender in recent years, which means that this isn’t a fluke.

Granted, it takes much more than talent to succeed, and they still need to prove themselves in the postseason after last year’s upset loss to the Washington Commanders.
