If you remove the Green Bay Packers‘ score from their frustrating and frankly, head-scratching loss against the Cleveland Browns, they would be averaging 31.3 points per game this season.
Any concerns about the offense have been quelled quickly, as Jordan Love and his teammates seem to be firing on all cylinders.
The narrative surrounding this team was that they didn’t have a true WR1, even with first-round draft pick Matthew Golden on the roster.
While Golden has yet to break out, so to speak, another player has emerged as the top option, which analyst Brad Gagnon talked about in a recent Bleacher Report article.
“WR Romeo Doubs,” Gagnon wrote. “Jordan Love has also made strides in his third year as a starter, but it’s Doubs who already has four touchdowns in four games as the quarterback’s top target in that receiving corps. The fourth-year fourth-round pick is likely to set career highs across the board in 2025.”
As Gagnon mentioned, Romeo Doubs has four touchdowns through four games, an indication that he’s going to be the workhorse WR in this offense moving forward.
Doubs and tight end Tucker Kraft are leading the way in this offense, already combining for six touchdowns.
What was considered a weakness coming into the year is actually a strength for this roster, as the Packers’ offense hasn’t had any difficulties getting going.
Doubs and Kraft weren’t viewed as the top receiving options heading into the season, but it’s clear that Love trusts them with the ball in their hands, so their workload should only get larger as the year goes on.
