Throughout quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ career in the NFL, the controversial superstar has made headlines on a seemingly weekly basis because of things that he says or does, and that has only gone to another level since he was traded to the New York Jets.

It seems as though Rodgers can’t avoid causing a stir in New York no matter what he is doing, and he did just that when he was absent at the team’s minicamp because he was in Egypt rather than trying to get up to speed with his teammates following a derailed season due to an Achilles injury.

Rodgers’ trip to Egypt was all anyone in the media could talk about in New York for weeks on end, as many thought it was an unwise decision by the four-time NFL MVP, even if it was for a good cause.

On Wednesday, Rodgers provided a little insight on his highly publicized trip overseas during the minicamp and how Egypt lived up to and exceeded his expectations like the first time he went to Augusta via Christopher Powers of Golf Digest.

“It was one of the few places in life where it kind of exceeded the expectations, to be honest. The only other place that was kind of like that was when I went to Augusta,” Rodgers said.

It seems that Rodgers has gotten to a point in his life where he’s enjoying experiences no matter how controversial or out there they may be while not caring what people think or say about him.

Along with seemingly enjoying life off the football field, Rodgers will have his work cut out for him this year as he has the tall task of turning things around for the Jets and being a legitimate Super Bowl title contender in the AFC.
