Titans vs. Chargers Prediction

Alarm bells have to be sounding now for the Titans, who are coming into this matchup on a three-game losing streak. After sitting at 7-3 on the season and seeming like they were in full control of their playoff destiny, they now have a record of 7-6 and have the Jacksonville Jaguars hot on their heels in the AFC South.

While they still have a two-game lead on Jacksonville, Tennessee has to view this as a must-win matchup against Los Angeles. It’s a must-win not only because of needing to retain the lead on the rest of the division but also to snap this losing streak.

The Titans have been a bit shorthanded at WR recently, with Treylon Burks missing time with a concussion, but the run game got back on track this past week after a couple of disappointing performances. They’ll need that to continue this week against a Chargers run defense that has struggled mightily this season.

That’s the key to winning this matchup for the Titans. With the passing game being limited, Henry will need to shoulder the load for this offense to help get the Titans to 8-6 on the season and continue to hold off the surging Jaguars.

For the Chargers, they’re coming off of a hard-fought victory on Sunday Night Football over the Miami Dolphins. In a must-win game for LA to remain in the AFC Wild Card conversation, they were able to shut down Miami’s high-powered passing attack and walk out with a 23-17 victory to move to 7-6 on the year.

The game-changer for the Chargers’ offense last week was finally having a healthy WR room. Keenan Allen, Mike Williams, and Joshua Palmer all played in Week 14 against Miami, and Justin Herbert was able to throw for an impressive 367 yards as a result.

This should be the key to winning the matchup this week for the Chargers against a Titans defense that is allowing the second-most passing yards per game this season. Tennessee is allowing an incredible 283.7 yards on average, which means that we should see a big performance from Herbert and this passing attack.

As long as the Chargers’ defense can do enough to keep Henry in check in the run game, which is no easy task, LA should be able to do enough on offense to walk out with a victory.
