This week’s Thursday Night Football matchup features two teams in very different positions. The Philadelphia Eagles, current Super Bowl contenders, travel to Houston to take on the Texans, who are likely going to compete for the first overall pick this year.
Game-day NFL rules only allow teams to “dress” 48 players each week. However, with teams often having between 53 and 55 players on their active roster (including practice squad call-ups), they must designate the other players as inactive.
The official inactive list is below. For more injury news around Week 9, check out our WR injury report and RB injury report.

Eagles Week 9 Injury Report
The Eagles are a very good football team. They are also coming into this Thursday Night Football matchup incredibly healthy. They have two players that are already ruled out in Jordan Davis and Josiah Scott, but besides them, there isn’t a ton to report.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Davis will be placed on injured reserve and will be eligible to return to the active roster during Week 13.

Although Philadelphia will miss Davis, it shouldn’t make much of a difference against one of the worst offenses in the NFL. The Texans have struggled to both run and pass the ball this season, their only highlight being rookie RB Dameon Pierce.
The Eagles have won seven straight games and three straight on the road. They are currently laying 14 points at most sportsbooks.
Texans Injury Report
The injury situation is a bit worse for the Texans, which is unfortunate, considering they are facing the best team in the league tonight. They have already ruled out rookie WR Nico Collins, and there are early reports that WR Brandin Cooks will not play due to personal reasons.
According to Schefter, Cooks was hoping to be traded to a contending team ahead of the 2022 NFL trade deadline. Although there were some teams looking to add to their WR rooms, most notably the Steelers, Cowboys, and Packers, the asking price for Cooks combined with his $18 million salary cap hit were simply too much.
This means that WRs Chris Moore and … Phillip Dorsett (?) might be the top two options for QB Davis Mills. Considering the Eagles have only been allowing 16.9 points per game, that WR tandem does not inspire very much confidence.
