The NFC West has a key battle between two of the strongest franchises in the NFL: the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams. The 49ers have won seven of their last eight games against the Rams. We’re covering all sports betting aspects of this matchup, with lines courtesy of our friends at FanDuel Sportsbook. On top of grabbing these 49ers and Rams player prop bets, I highly recommend grabbing your no-sweat first bet for Week 8 while you can.
Top 49ers vs. Rams Player Props To Target
We’re using every tool at our disposal to make sharp prop bets for this NFC West battle, including fantasy averages, player trends, and the best vig. Let’s dive into the best prop bets you can target.
Christian McCaffrey Anytime TD (+120)
McCaffrey’s debut with the 49ers was nothing special, but it provided a glimpse of the special impact he can have on this offense. Kyle Shanahan has long made the most out of working with mediocre talents at running back. Giving him a true superstar will help create a must-watch offense each week.
McCaffrey totaled 10 touches against the Chiefs last week, producing 62 yards despite playing only 29 percent of the plays. Expect his role to continue growing rapidly. The 49ers, at 3-4, need to see improvement from an offense ranked 20th in scoring. With McCaffrey participating more, the 49ers can also focus on getting Deebo Samuel more receiving touches than forcing him to carry the ball.
The easiest way to integrate McCaffrey in his first few weeks is in the red zone and on screen passes. This will be one of the last times we’ll be able to get his touchdown prop at plus value, making it a big play for us.
Also worth noting is a $5 bet on the over of McCaffrey’s rushing total would win $200 on DraftKings Sportsbook.
George Kittle Anytime TD (+185)
Just one week after his best game of the season and notching his first touchdown of the year, Kittle is entering an advantageous matchup. In Kittle’s 10 career games against the Rams, he’s averaging five receptions, 73 yards, and 0.5 touchdowns. He’s scored a touchdown in three of his last five games against the Rams.
Kittle’s last two games have been underwhelming, totaling only seven receptions for 74 yards and zero scores. I think that changes this week. The 49ers need to get more out of Kittle, and the addition of McCaffrey will help ease the attention he sees from the Rams.
With the 49ers likely to have Kittle as their third option in the red zone behind McCaffrey and Samuel, I think we’re getting solid odds in what should be a competitive game with multiple scoring opportunities.
Matthew Stafford Under 1.5 Passing TDs (+100)
The Rams can’t be too upset at how Matthew Stafford has performed in 2022 considering they’re coming off a Super Bowl win, but Stafford has indeed stunk for the majority of the season. He’s in the midst of a four-game stretch with only two touchdowns and three interceptions. It’ll be tough to turn that around against the 49ers.
Stafford was ineffective against this talented 49ers defense in their last matchup. He completed 32-of-48 passes for 254 yards but threw a pick and took seven sacks. The 49ers swarm pocket passers with excellent speed and creative coverages that cause even veteran quarterbacks to hesitate.
Expect more struggles for Stafford this week. I love getting plus value when Stafford only has one game of more than 1.5 passing touchdowns on the season, and that was Week 2 against Atlanta.
Allen Robinson Under 33.5 Receiving Yards (-110)
Coming off his best game of the season, with five receptions for 63 yards and his second touchdown on the year, now is the perfect time to fade Allen Robinson’s impact against the 49ers. Just a few weeks ago, Robinson had his worst game of the year in their first matchup. Robinson totaled two catches for seven yards.
For as much as I want to see Robinson thrive in this Rams offense, we’re already fading Stafford’s success. Robinson has a tough matchup when Stafford has continually targeted Cooper Kupp as soon as he feels pressure. The 49ers will get after Stafford once again, and it’s hard to imagine his tendencies changing so quickly.
This is a low receiving total, but Robinson has fallen well short in four of his six games. That is a trend worth banking on continuing.
