The Dallas Cowboys are just 2-2-1 for the season.
They’ve beaten Russell Wilson and the New York Giants in overtime and the New York Jets.
However, some believe Dak Prescott should be an MVP candidate.
Notably, that includes former NFL player Gerald McCoy:

Prescott is clearly playing at a high level, perhaps the best of his career.
So far, he’s completed 71.3 percent of his passes for 1,356 yards, 10 touchdowns, and three interceptions.
He’s done that behind an injured offensive line and without his best player, CeeDee Lamb.
Even so, perhaps we should pump the brakes on this MVP talk.
The Cowboys might have one of the most proficient offenses in the league under first-year head coach Brian Schottenheimer, but they put up 14 points on a then-0-2 Chicago Bears team.
He was benched down the stretch in that game.
They also couldn’t get much going against a Philadelphia Eagles team that just dropped its second consecutive game.
The Cowboys have a long history of getting off to strong starts to the season before falling flat when it matters most, and Prescott has also been that type of player way too many times in his career already.
Props to Prescott for coming back stronger and better after another season-ending injury, especially amid all the uncertainty and talks about his future.
They’re trending in the right direction, and they should only get better once they get Lamb back on the field.
Still, it’s way too early to be having this conversation about Dak Prescott.
