The Indiana Fever have pulled off the unthinkable — advanced to the WNBA semifinals without Caitlin Clark. Despite the odds being stacked against them due to multiple injuries that marred their regular season, the Fever continued to rally and secured a playoff spot.
And though fans were expecting a tough fight, few were optimistic about a Round 1 win against the Atlanta Dream. However, with a stellar 87-85 Game 3, the Fever have advanced to the next round.
Caitlin Clark Was Over the Moon After Fever’s Round 1 Win vs. the Atlanta Dream
Supposed to have a standout sophomore WNBA campaign, Clark found herself sidelined due to multiple injuries. After suffering a groin injury in July, Clark was eventually ruled out entirely as the regular season neared its end.
However, Clark never ceased to cheer on her team.
The 23-year-old went wild on social media, dropping a reasonably hyped reaction to their series win.
FEVVVVVVV SHOOWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ @IndianaFever

“STEPHANIE WHITE !!!!!!!!!!!” Clark wrote in one post as she praised head coach Stephanie White.
“FEVVVVVVV SHOOWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️,” she wrote in another.
Fever star Kelsey Mitchell led the team with 24 points. Odyssey Sims, Aliyah Boston, Natasha Howard, and Lexie Hull scored 16, 14, 12, and 10 points, respectively.
That being said, Clark has been a solid presence for her team on social media and otherwise. She reacted to every game, including the team’s impressive Game 2 showing. Never trailing as they kept focused, the Fever sent the Gainbridge Fieldhouse into pandemonium after Lexie Hull’s buzzer-beating three in the third quarter.
Clark, beyond excited, wrote: “Can’t explain what I felt in this moment.”
She even credited the Fever fans for being loud as they took over the venue with their cheers.
Fever HC Stephanie White Is Grateful for Clark and Co.’s Presence From the Bench
Despite being sidelined, Clark and others, like Sophie Cunningham and Aari McDonald, have maintained a positive attitude. They have continued to raise morale, including supporting their team on the court.
In a previous interview, White spoke about their presence and its importance.
“So you know, having the whole group here, having those guys here gives us a little bit of a boost emotionally. And then have their perspective. I mean, we have 3 point guards that are sitting on the sideline who can talk to our team in huddles, who can talk to our team throughout the course of dead balls, and when they come on/off the floor,” White said during a practice session interview.
She explained that their emotional support is essential, giving the team the boost they need to win.
Following a win against the Dream, the Fever will face either the Las Vegas Aces or the Seattle Storm for the semifinals.
